My Camry 08 V6 ac just stopped blowing cold. Air filter removed, same thing. I went to mechanics place & I was told my gas level is above 140/200 psi which sounds okay to me. But he’s insisting we leak the old gas out and refill. I refused because it’s follow come gas. He said my compressor is bad & also it’s automatic. So now I’m supposed to buy another one but he’s saying I buy manual. Please advise. Should I buy manual? According to him, automatic compressor is troublesome. I don’t have idea on the difference. Any suggestions ? Updated: my compressor is still rolling |

When AC repair men don't know how to work with an automatic compressor, they call it troublesome. If you install the manual abomination they are going to suggest to you, say bye-bye to a smooth drive with your car 3 Likes |

icenti:Thank God you didn’t go further with him .. it would have been one lamentation to another infact avoid such mechanics they are stuck in the past.. Take your time and Search for a real automobile shop, they don’t come cheap by the way they will diagnose your car with modern tools and equipment to give best and accurate solution. |

icenti:The truth is that most technician's in order to avoid stories that touch, run from advising customers to buy automatic compressor, especially when they are buying from ladipo. The sellers don't give guarantee, imagine spending over 100k on compressor and it doesn't work after 2 days... Secondly automatic compressor does not tolerate impurities, so any small dirt in the system can compromise the whole system. I will advise u take the car to a competent ac tech that knows the job. Finally Incase you decide to go the manual way, don't use Peugeot compressor, use 2003 Toyota Corolla compressor. You won't feel any vibration. 1 Like |

icenti:The bolded above reading doesn't make sense to me ,Is that a static test for the low and side pressure value or what ,what are the low and high side pressure during compressor working . Don't be in hurry to start changing any compressor yet your ac guy troubleshooting is a wack ,I will advice you seek more competent ac technican, I recommend you give to Motiontech to troubleshoot for you . Save yourself the wohala and get manual. The moment they open your dashboard and ac control panel,your car don turn to scrap. Search aliexpress but be ready to spend close to 125k for new one auto,or spend 70k for manual belgium
