I was just about to post this. For people bringing their parents over, please get travel insurance, I got for my mum from Axamansard for just N30,000. It’ll save you a lot in case it’s needed.

Did she make any claim during the time the policy was in place? I want to know if the claim process is a seamless one.

Yes, if you meet the new requirements for the new application and if not, then your application stays on the queue. You don't have to do anything.
Sorry I applied on the old portal since February 2021.
Yet no response so I raised a web form I got this
Should I wait and be patient or should I reapply with the new portal?..

If you don't have a job or own a business then getting a visiting visa is out of the picture. Selling your land so as to finance the holiday is a desperate move, it clearly show that you don't plan to come back if given a visa

Hi, this caught my attention as nobody as ever mentioned/ talked about owning a business on this thread. So, my question is i have an agriculture business ( Poultry Farming, Vegetables and Fish Farming) i am not married and i do not a kids. I am considering visiting can for 2 to 3 weeks. I have a very little travel experience ( UAE, Kenya and Benin Republic) and also planning on visiting two west Africa countries before applying. What would you advice i do .., what doc do i get ready? Thanks in advance for your timely response.

hello Daks, could you pls put me through how you purchased the insurance. I thought it has to be a Canadian company since it will be used here in canada. I would like to buy a travel insurance for my mum as well. Thank you.

I'll need this info too as I just started filling out the online application form for my parents but I need advice on a reasonable figure $ to put down as the amount of money they intend to spend in Canada.

thanks for this, pls did you have to do any test at Amsterdam as I have seen some people mention in other forums? Also, the authorization from ircc, is it a necessity ? Thank you

Hi I left lagos yesterday via klm on trv to unite with sibling. I enrolled on arrive can app, vaccination card, negative COVID test from accredited lab, authorization from ircc to fly (did this via webform). All documents are checked at all airports, so print all documents. In Canada I was randomly selected to do a COVID test. I am to quarantine in my sisters house till results come out in 24 hours . If negative I can go about my business, if positive then further quarantine for 10 days. They also gave a home test kit to do in 10 days and send to them. Cheers

Any recent PPR news? The holiday may have slowed things down as some of these folks are likely not working during this period.

considering how long your application has been, my best advise is for you to reapply and this time using the New Portal. I'm sure that would be best.

What's the average duration stamp on the visitor visa issued through the new portal? Someone told me it could be one month. I thought the minimum is 6 months or a month before passport expiration.

Happy new year and good morning to everyone, attn: justwise please I need your assistance.

Long & short story: I recently lost my dad and it was during his funeral preparation around December that my brother who is a citizen suggested we put in a visitor application, because I was the only one running around for the burial couple with my job & business. I forgot to attach my bank statement to my application but only submitting all my brother’s financial documents.

Reality check: 14 days after application, I got a refusal letter.

Salary: For over 8 years of working with this company, we are paid in cash and because I owned a running business, I put part of my salary into contribution and when its my turn to collect I ask them to start again.

WHAT CAN I DO: after few years of thrifting, I collected my share and bought investment some months before my brother’s suggestion of applying for visa application. Now, I don’t have physical cash in my account due to my daddy’s burial, however, my late dad made my siblings and I shareholder in his fuel station and I am entitled to some funding of 2m at the moment.

1) how do I proof this sudden amount in my account?
2) how do I go about reapplying?
3) late last year, I used proceeds from my business to buy a land which I have power of attorney documents, should I submit it alongside business bank statement?
4) should I attach the investment letter?
5) when reapplying, should I attach LOE?

Please I will really appreciate your kind response + guidance on how to go about addressing this concerns. Thank you

3. I have filled all the required information on what history for the past 10 years but I still get an error message

Error:
Give details of all your employment and activities for the past 10 years.- You're missing details for the past 10 years. Review your entries and make sure you included something for all times periods in the past 10 years. Do not include any entries that you already put for post-secondary education or military/police force (if that was your only occupation at that time).
If you were unemployed, incarcerated, or retired in the last 10 years, select that option from the menu and tell us for how long.
If you were a student at a secondary school, select unemployed.
You can't save or continue to the next questions until you include these details.

Please how to I fix the error
.

Hi , were you able to fix or get past this error ? Could anyone give me a hint on how to solve this ? Thanks in advance.

Make sure you don't have same dates for your education and work. For example if you were schooling from June 2000-June 2004 and you were also working that period, it wont let you put the same date for both. You have to use that date for only education or only work experience, not both

In addition, ensure you don't leave dates out, if you're unemployed say between April to May 2017, you'll have to state it. For someone who left school say 2015 June and went for NYSC in August same year, you'll have to fill that space of time with probably unemployed and then you can state it that you were awaiting NYSC or so.
