Maybe, the organizers need to either bring back Chidi Mokeme or hire Frank Edoho to replace Toke Makinwa

A lot of people didn't watch nor follow the show at all... They didn't even know the show was still on, until the winner was announced on social media...

The Show failed simply because It has OUTLIVED it's relevance!

The show is supposed to showcase survival instincts of participants in the jungle and not fake displays which Toke represents.
The organisers messed up big time, the show required tough looking personalities like Gentle Jack or Chidi Mokeme or Segun Arinze

me checking n seeing toke just look asif the show na drama
also the idea of weekly airing of the show didnt help...
last n most importantly, the local channels showing the likes of maltina dance hall, GUS, super story, papa ajasco, mtn project fame, star quest etc helped It to trend in the whole of naija unlike now dt these local channels are dead

Everyone knows Gulder Ultimate Search is no longer appealing to most people. Even the frequency of broadcast made it more like a soap opera. The organisers really need to spice things up. It is not big brother and will never be. What people demand now is different especially the ladies.

So stop blaming Toke.

It's not her fault. Hypocrites Nigerians prefer nudity and pornhub reality shows than intellectual and educative reality shows.

My first post of the year

I think these 3 factors contributed to it.

1. Nigerians are soft porn loving hypocrites. They clamoured for the return of the show but deeply were not truly interested. No sex scenes in shows like GUS.


2. Naija has advanced beyond showing highlights of programmes on weekends. GUS seem to be stucked in the past Gone are those days.


3. Anchor... Toke is a great presenter. The only problem is her personality isn't in sync with what we expect from GUS show. She's better off presenting BBNaija and other love/romance shows.

I was initially so damn interested in the show..... But all of a sudden, i lost all interest..... Was it really about who anchored it? Not sure.......... I just lost interest in the show.......


It’s a pity.....

She was talking too much on TWITTER.
She was basically distracted by her online fame.
She was more interested in ensuring she satisfied her Online Fans than the game itself.
She turned it into a Fashion show.
She completely lacked the pedigree to pilot such.
Again, When was the 1st & Last time she consumed GULDER?

I would say she was partly the reason. The show flopped for these reasons:

Firstly, a show like that requires a host with lots of charisma and charm which Toke doesn’t possess.

Secondly, the publicity was very poor and it was as if much preparations didn’t go into the show.

Thirdly, they should have aired on mainstream channels like DStv, and even NTA like they used to.

If there is going to be another show this year, it will be best to have someone like Chidi Mokeme, IK of big brother Africa or someone else who isn’t Toke to anchor it.

I have said it before and I’m saying it again, Toke has no business being on TV. She is very annoying and one can easily lose interest in her conversations.

She is also very superficial and it will take another superficial man to tolerate her in a relationship. Women like her got nothing to offer.
