Babafemi Ojudu ‘Welcomes’ Kwankwaso To APC Amid Defection Rumour by HenryThegreat1(m): 12:15am On Jan 03, 2022
The Special Adviser on Political Matters to the President, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, says former Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso, is “most welcomed” to the All Progressives Congress if the report of his defection is true.

There had been unconfirmed reports that Kwankwaso has rejoined APC on social media.
As speculation about Kwankwaso’s defection from the Peoples Democratic Party to APC thickens, Ojodu described the former governor as “a great mobiliser, and thoroughbred politician”.

Ojudu, who was a Senator for the Ekiti Central constituency of Ekiti State, made this known on Facebook, attaching a picture of Kwankwaso, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, and himself.

He posted, “The news is everywhere that the leader of the Kwakwansiya Movement, His Excellency, Senator Rabiu Kwakwanso has returned to our party APC. I have not confirmed this yet but if true he is most welcomed.

“This will also be the best move of his political career. A great mobiliser, brilliant organiser, and thoroughbred politician, Kwankwaso is the leader of the red cap-wearing multitude. He will be a big addition to our movement for a greater Nigeria.”
Return to APC possible -Kwankwaso

Hours after his defection rumour, Kwankwaso in an interview with The PUNCH hinted about his possible return to APC.

When asked if he could return to APC, he replied, “In politics, everything is possible in this game. We don’t want any permanent enemy. What we want are permanent friends. It is very important. We work for friendship.

“It will amaze you that some of my friends who we started working with 30 years ago, many of them are still alive and we are together. Even those who died from 30 years ago to date are in our record and every year, we do one thing or the other for their families. So, in 2023, I believe many things are likely to happen.”

I am open to reconciliation with Kwankwaso -Ganduje
In his New Year message, the Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, had said he was open to reconciling with Kwankwaso and other political gladiators in the state.
The New Year message signed by his Commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba, read in part, “It is glaring that the political gladiators in Kano State have been yearning for the much-needed peace and conciliation in order to advance the cause for proper development in the political terrain and the society at large.

“Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is open to reconciling with all the political gladiators in the state, including his mentor and former Governor, His Excellency, Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso, as well as other politicians who have been at loggerheads with him.”

After reading the Kwakwanso interview that was published yesterday, I have no doubt in my mind that he will return to APC this year. He’s just waiting for the Secondus case to be decided by the court before moving. I sincerely hope that APC will be able to manage the interest of the three biggest politicians in Kano.

If he defects, our noisy neighbors would contract cancer of the mouth. There'd be less noise on Nairaland.

That's Osinbajo's deputy. Rufai Hanga said so few days ago
"If Osinbajo is given the ticket now and he picks somebody like Kwankwaso, I swear to God, they will surely win".

Reason I can’t be a politician, I hate going back to where I’ve left.
There should be a law that will limit numbers of time a politician can defect from one party to another.

You supposed to be worried about your Oga tinubu if kwakwanso should decamp to APC.

Heavy weight politician to fight inside APC will be more and someone like kwakwanso will likely not to support your oga tinubu.

Kwakwanso and ganduaje are not friends... Ganduje is tinubu's ally/friend.

Leadership is not football where the purpose is just win a game and the rest is history. You guys have started same thing you did with Buhari. Having crowd to support you does not translate to good leadership. Buhari has crowd in the north because of Shari'a he has always supported in open and in secret. Those who voted for him in the north believed he was coming to implement shari'a all over the country.
Back to my concern what is the synergy in governance between Osinbajo and Kwakwanso? Is it just to win election and we all get to square 1? Osinbajo and Kwakwanso unfortunately are mismatched in so many ways. Kwakwanso will never be loyal as deputy to Osinbajo. You guys what to see Obasanjo vs Atiku part 2.
