Be like Seyi Makinde no like Lekan Balogun sef...

Lekan balogun shoot himself in the leg bro during ajimobi regime . None of the obas or oloyes won't vote for him considering his antecedents in time past. He made sure the past oba did not enjoyed his throne.

I align myself completely with Mr Lana on this, the matter must be properly rested. The Governor should withhold approval for the Olubadan until this issue is resolved. Chief Lekan Balogun cannot be crowned twice.

High time we scrap all these monarchs. If politicians can determine who becomes king or even control them. Then what is the aim

Why did Ajimobi tried to usurp Oba Saliu and install Lekan?

Is it by voting?
I thought it is the next in line from either the Otun or Balogun dynasty that gets nominated...

For the first time in modern history, Ibadan land woke up to no traditional drum beating in anyone's house as the King...what a worrisome development!
High Chief Sen. Lekan Balogun is like a man who has been told he'll find a golden coin but when it delayed, he presented himself with a metal and ran to the marked line.
If the throne had been politically desecrated the way Sen Abiola Ajimobi and his henchmen were going about it with the connivance of some power drunk High Chiefs like Uncle Lekan, would there be any stool to dream of again?
I'll give the King stool to High Chief Sen Rasheed Ladoja if I were the Governor, there's something called forthrightness in leadership, a king must be seen to have such as a primary trait.

Just read the history of Ibadan to find out. Just to assist you with one peculiarity of Ibadan that makes it somewhat different from other Yoruba domains,Ibadan is a city founded by warriors not one progenitor who settled there first after leaving Ile Ife wink
If Dr Kemi Olunloyo is a Male, she would likely be an Olubadan someday

When Ajimobi,God rest his soul, was desecrating and denigrating the stool and position of Olubadan, the first person one would expect to condemn anf go against the move is definitely the next man in line, Lakan Balogun. But, because of some coins and inconsequential recognition, he and the others pitched their tent again the Olubadan. Only Ladoja stood firm and maintained that the tradition and Olubadan institution must be protected.

I support this a hundred percent. once he has been crowned before, he cannot be crowned again.

I posited here yesterday that the botched coronation of the elevated Chiefs by the former governor may come back to hunt Lekan Balogun.
Now it's happening.

Make una no run this thing like Ikirun land case. More reason I don't like yoruba land. They wait till the Oba dies b4 they decide the next Oba. The Oba of Ikirun stool has been vacant for more than 8 months now. Several court cases after the previous king died.

Ibadans are Arch Conservative Republicans

The Olubadan goes to Clans of the High Chiefs Lineages based on hierarchy

I Knew it already . The moment every hwrre was agog of lekan balogun. I knew he was out to pull the strings with all the media propaganda within few hours of the death of the former one. It means Oloye Lekan might not actually be the next olubadan if all things been equal sequel to the role he played during Ajimobi tenure about the former oba.
The only way he'll not be crowned Oba is if his coronation by Ajimobi stands, otherwise he'll be the next Olubadan. Please read the article very carefully.

Whichever way it goes he's going to be Oba..

Otun olubadan and Balogun are more or less Kings especially the Balogun who is a field marshal/Generalissimo

There is nothing like more or less kings in Yorubaland. You are either a king or you are not. No in between there.

no they are not like kings at all. Otun Olubadan is a chief in Olubadan palace so he can't be king at the same time likewise Balogun Olubadan

. The former AG is just creating a problem where there is none just for Identity. The cases in question have not been heard at all which means until court rules otherwise they are still chiefs in Ibadan. All of them met with Olubadan as chiefs till he died not as kings. In view of the above crowning Lekan Balogun as the next Ibadan king will make the pending suit status barred. So former AG should go and sit down and enjoy his retirement. Lekan Balogun candidacy stays as the next Olubadan
