It would have been better if aliexpress or amazon have outlets in Nigeria.
But laslas na Nigerians go still pay and our impoverishment go continue.
Amazon won't be liable for this stupidity from buhari, the worst that can happen is these nrc to stop shipping directly to Nigeria, which will inturn affect us and also increase the prices of thesewares we ship from abroad. Just like we r using vpn to access twitter. We go now use ghana route to bring in phones into Nigeria.

The rest of the world is collecting taxes fro Amazon shipments, but when it comes to Nigeria, it is stupidity, Nigeria should be the only mumu country in the world not collecting taxes from Amazon.

Even Americans pay taxes on Amazon goods..

UK collected half a Billion pound in taxes from Amazon, so, are they stupid in the UK?

The stupid comments I read here is deeply embarrassing.

Is this hatred of country or just plain ignorance?

Which Amazon or which AliExpress.

All they are doing is increasing the cost of transaction of Nigerians. These companies will just add a 6% NGA Tax on transactions originating from Nigeria at checkout.
Collate the sum and give NG Govt.
It's not coming from their profit.
Help me tell those idiots clapping for buhari.

So Nigerians to pay double tax both home and abroad? Try to send enquiry to Amazon, you will be schocked Nigeria is no longer on the list especially on Amazon UK

The government should work hard to promote local production so that goods listed by Nigerians, Amazon will help th to charge. Who pays multiple VAT just to buy a product?
Yes. So you think amazom will be nice to just pay tax like that. That is how it works. When the government impose taxes, the final consumers tends to bear the cost of everything. Now, the government say they'll tax soft drink, who do you think will suffer it, the producers? Retailers? Or the final consumers?? Of course, you and i, will end up paying tax indirectly

Are you not going to pay before?

Now come to think of it. I know you are daft already.

Now, after paying the vat for that country listed, your own country is still saying you should pay additional tax again. Now, they want Amazon to charge you again after you've already been charged where the goods are(physical goods)

It is too complex for you to understand hence you keep quoting irrelevancy

You mean the products Amazon and Aliexpress ship to Nigeria are not physical products, they are invisible products

The digital products nko? You cluelessly missed that part..lol

It doesn't even matter what form or manner the products are, they are purely commerce and trade products and they must be taxed accordingly.

Nigeria has the right to charge for products in the country listed on Amazon. However, non oil products are being listed as Zero tax in Nigeria.

If the government want to charge on products from Nigeria listed on Amazon they can do so and they are entitled to it.

The country also have the right to charge imported goods through import duties

Now, your country is now proposing vat on goods not listed on Amazon from the country. They want VAT on goods sold to Nigerians on the platform despite the fact that they have their import duties waiting already.

Man I know you are very stupid but please don't marry nor give birth because 2people of your stupidity is too much.

There are several dozens of countries on that Amazon list collecting VAT from Amazon, why are paying additional taxes?

Abi your objection applies only to Nigeria?

What is your point, really?

That what's good for the rest of the world is bad for Nigeria

That the rest of the world can make money from sales on their land, but Nigeria must never do the same thing?

I really don't get your meaningless point.

Other countries ar doing the same thing so why are you so mad an upset that Nigeria is trying to do the same thing?

But they're building a fine railway with your tax money? Add to that the payment of police, teachers ,lawmakers and soldiers salaries.

Oga, no vex me this early morning. Which railway? The one to maradi? Do you know how much is $1.6B that will be borrowed in naira?

What is our economic balance of trade with Niger?

Benin Republic is by far Nigeria's biggest trading partner in the ECOWAS block. But your (honestly I don't know what to call him) chose MARADI of all places because he has SECOND COUSINS, keyword COUSINS!

Do you what facilitating ease of movement of goods between Nigeria/Ghana/Benin will do for our country? Do you know how it will boost trade in regards to AFCTA? How are people in government in this country thinking? Dem swear for us?

Haba, doesn't it sound like a joke to you?
Remember last year they borrowed $500m to digitize Nta. Oga, NTA o. I'm a Christian and believe in hope but I swear NTA is a hopeless station. Sell am to whoever needs the scrap, but no, they must borrow $500m. How much does it cost to even set up a tv station from scratch sef.

Do you know how much we spent on servicing debt in our budget? Let me tell you, NNPC is a failed company and forget the noise, it contributes less that 10% of the FAAC pool that FG,states and LG share monthly. So you should know that we are only surviving in this country on tax and borrowing.

Now imagine the small tax you and I are contributing to pay, someone will inflate project and steal the money.

By the way, only teachers deserve their salaries in this country. Let them disband police and soldiers walahi

I swear if you mention any railway again I go pull shirt you.
