Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu has urged Nigerians to stop criticising the country but contribute their quota to build the nation.

Sanwo-Olu said this during the special Jumat Service for the year 2022 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration, at the Community Central Mosque, Ikeja.

The Governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, said that Nigerians had formed the habit of criticising the nation, and even the Armed Forces, but also contributed to wrongdoings.

”All we do is criticise. We even criticise the Nigerian Army, that they are not fighting well. We always elevate the bad things about our country,” he said.

According to him, other countries have their challenges, but never portray such to the world.

Sanwo-Olu said that God had given everyone his uniqueness, hence, such uniqueness should be used to build the country.

”How do we justify the death of those people that fought for this country to remain? In memory of the people that have even died, let us even be nice to our country.

”Whether we like it or not, if we do not build it, all of us will suffer. It is as simple as that.

”We should do everything to prevent war. Some people have voluntarily said they will protect all of us with the help of Allah to defend this country. Therefore, we must appreciate them.

”We pray that Almighty Allah will be with the souls of those that have departed. For those that are living, it is our responsibility to do everything that we should to appreciate their efforts,” he said.

In his goodwill message, the Head of Service, Mr Hakeem Muri-Okunola, advised Nigerians to go beyond praying for the Armed Forces but do what was necessary by supporting the families of the fallen heroes.

Muri-Okunola commended the Nigeria Armed Forces for the efforts put in place to protect the people and the nation’s integrity.

He prayed Almighty Allah to continue to fortify and strengthen them and their families.

Speaking on behalf of the Armed Forces, Maj. Ibrahim Harrison, prayed to God to protect and grant peace to the country.

When there is absolutely nothing good to see in Nigeria you want people to lie? You as Governor are you satisfied with the state of Lagos roads?

Logically those who are not proud of their country or talk down on her have issue with self esteem and personal values.

Demeaning your country simply because it couldn't accord you all you desire of her is akin to someone who spite his family simply because your parents can't afford all your desires.

If we have good things happening in the shithole, why would anyone be criticizing it?

Why would anyone be proud of a country where nothing works and japa has become the national anthem?

Sanwo-Olu should go and sleep; you politicians ruined this country.

How can you expect us to be happy in contributing our quota when our wealth are stashed in your bank accounts and your family members living lavishly with access to the best and maximum security.

It is easy for you to say this Mr Governor because you are not at the receiving end of the problems the ineptitude of the current and past leadership of this hell of a country has created.
No one will be proud of a country that keeps taking from him or her without any known accruing benefits. Nigerians pay heavily by working like slaves and earning very little while the politicians milk the treasury via jumbo pay and unreasonable allowances, budget padding, money laundering, and massive contract scams.
Nigeria needs a serious revolution! The country is a failed experiment that favors the few elites at elms of power.

Motor accidents are killing your parents in your region but you are complaining about bad roads in Lagos. I laugh at your stupidity.
Combine the 5 states of your South East together. You don't have as much good roads as Alimosho local government.

So true. Most times out of the blues NIGERIA will be listed as trending and u will quickly click to see if anything had happened but it's just citizens cursing and saying bad things about their country.

It is even more sickening when people feel they can now condemn the armed forces. People who have signed up to pay the supreme price, if need be.

A National reorientation is well needed.
