Before you deal with anybody from Nairaland, search the name and phone number to see if it's been involved in fraud. Most of them have multiple monikers. You have been scammed.

Report on fraud by Chatinet

Good afternoon everyone. Please I needed some USDT this morning so I posted here to see if any member have to sell.

This guy by the name FEMI MICHAEL with Nairaland user name CHATINET chatted me up that he has 100 units to sell. I sent him my wallet address but he said we should escrow or I send money to him first. I wasn't too sure about how to go around escrow on nairaland so I requested for his Nairaland name, after confirming that he had been on nairaland for some time I decided to send money to him first. I sent ₦56,000 to him which was our agreement for the 100USDT and the guy started telling stories.

He said he has been notified of my payment but said he did not receive alert. That until he received alert. This is about 3hrs now after the transfer and the guy has refused to credit my USDT wallet.

When I said I will escalate on nairaland he quickly changed the DP on his WhatsApp not knowing I already have the screenshot of his original picture. He now started going offline to avoid our conversation.

Please help me to call out this fraudster so that he can refund my money if he doesn't have USDT to sell.

I will attach his picture and our conversation here.

Thanks so much for always helping to fish out fraudster on this platform.

Congratulations son. Welcome to the world of Crypto. You just paid your school fees. That money is long gone and there's absolutely nothing we can do about it. I'll advice you move on, Crypto will bless you more than that in due time. Get ready for the messages coming down below.
Is too early to say this.
He has account with WEMA and active phone number.
Let us start from there.

he can actually get him if he has the time and resources
Just write report to your bank that it is fraud, you can write via email of chat agents

Then Monday head to the fraud unit of your bank.. it requires some court orders restraining his account activities and maybe a police report

Just go to the bank, they will advise you on what to do..

Or alternatively, you can search if the number is on fb or IG or any social media.. then run a search history on his family members and dm them one by one, or even track him from there

Hello,

Please confirm the name before posting. Was it this account that sent you a message or sb who used another account and claimed it was this account?

I do not sell crypto either. I only write, and track scammers.

It is unfortunate you didn't investigate properly and tagged me a scammer.

My username is chatinent not chatinet...and I don't scam.

Your scammer had to clone my nick to get at you and I just looked the name up...he has been banned or probably deactivated. https://www.nairaland.com/chatinet

Please differentiate the names so sb wouldn't think it is I.

Thanks.

Pls ignore contacting anybody on whatsapp..... Most of them are scammers in disguise waiting to rip you off your money...... Some people become sad whenever they see another person have money and want to use for investment, the next thing is they will start looking for a way to collect that money tru scam.

Don't let them eat you the way sharks eat small fishes in the sea..

All you need is here....

Thanks boss for this..

I am not messaging anyone of them at all. I am going to buy it through p2p

Hello Chatinent,

He actually sent a link to his Nairaland account when I requested for his Nairaland identity which I looked up and concluded is an active member. I am not a frequent user of nairaland for transactions.

So sorry for the inconveniences the identity theft might have caused you.

I will really appreciate if you can help in tracking him down.

Thank you so much.

U can lose the whole money like sport betting if u trade in future..

But as u r a newbie like me, trade spot....

And this is the best time to buy coz most coins are down... By the time every where turn green, u wud have made a lot...

For spot trading, you can't lose your money like betting..

Bought bnb on kukoin...I want to withdraw it to my trust wallet.
its asking me which network.
is it bep2 or bep20.
pls help
pls read carefully, bep2 is d network for d normal yellow colored bnb log on trustwallet, while d black colored bnb logo named binance smartchain uses d bep20 network. So go to d bnb smartchain, i.e d black colored bnb logo receive wallet addr of ur trustwallet, copy and paste it on ur kucoin' bnb withdrawal form and choose d bep20 network, and send. If i were u i ll use hotbit exchange to do it, bcus its cheaper compared to kucoin. Kucoin charges 0.06bnb for gas fee while hotbit charges 0.006bnb. U see
