Pls this s a good thought let get off this beef and cow madness in entire South. Goat is a neat, ram is a meeting chicken is meat s what is hell some demeted sons of butch willing to impose demonic eef and cows on us and th out annoying thing is they don't eat cow meat themselves but want others to consumed by force by fire.

Since 2017 I had stopped eating beef since a fula herders told me the secret why Fulanis don't eat cow meat sorry I won't eat it again let those who still want live in fool paradise be eating it good luck to them.

Pls let every sane Southerners(Pls when I say sane Sotherners Buhari supporters not included pls keep off) ask have you ever seen a fulani no matter how rich he is killed cow for his or her daughter wedding or naming ceremony or on any Islamic festive but look at Southerners killed cows for everything and yet none was clever enough to ask why didn't the herders kill the cows for consumption Wete they not Muslims is worshipping cow Islamic

How much is a kilo of beef to a kilo of chicken , this should be known before you can say chicken is cheaper than beef. Yeah we get that you want people from your southwest to have more jobs through broiler production but it would inherently affect revenue on the other side of the spectrum ( beef production ). We also know once demand increases without increase in supply the price of the commodity increases and I doubt there's a plan to effect the increase of supply through loans for start up. Then what about choice , I naturally don't like chicken ( or any poultry product for that matter ) , I would need to buy my beef at an exhorbitant price if it is outlawed

I wonder o.. do we buy the beef and throw them away or waste them? no, we consume them as food.

Ogbeni, this is about self preservation. Southwest region is not retaining money, the reason for the stagnant economy and growing debt in the region.
This guy is the only sensible gov in the southwest. The others are useless morons with chicken head.
To grow an economy, u need to think of ways of attracting revenue to your region. We need to build capacity that can generate and retain funds within the region.
Check NBS data, southwest is the biggest spender in this country. But the money doesn't stay in the region,it's an ongoing capital flight bleeding the region for yrs.
Tinubu presidency will not solve this. Everything isn't about politics.

I wonder the kind of re.tar.ded mentality contemporary rulers in Nigeria now have. You see them making diversionary populist statements without substance.

Asking people not to eat beef or trying to ban it totally will never work, as long as Nigeria still remains one nation.

The only way out is provide alternative for consumers of beef. Asking someone that like beef to stop eating it and go for pork he doesn't eat is rubbish.

How much does it cost to establish ranches?

What stops these governors in the South from establishing animal husbandry research centers that will be mandated to crossbreed and produce high meat yeilding cows that are resistant to trypanosomiasis/tsests flies?

What stops these governors from providing loans for graduates and also guiding them on how to establish mini ranches sustainably?

In the old Eastern region, Michael Okpara established so many farm settlements, plantations and even a huge cattle ranch in Obudu! If those leaders with little resources and information at their disposal could do all these, then what excuse do these governors paying lip service have??

If the 17 Southern governors should establish 3 ranches in each state while empowering their indigenes to emulate them and also providing them soft loans and other logistics, in less than a decade, the entire region will be self sufficient while thousands of jobs will be created with increased revenue.

You reasoning capacity is very low to be frank. You are asking how you lose 2.5 billion by buys goods worth that amount. This is the most stupid thing that I have seen. I recommend you go back and read any book on basic economics.

This doesn’t make any sense.

You can’t tell people what to eat coz it will be counterproductive.

Why can’t you SW governors corporate with the private sector and invest in cattle rearing using modern methods? If you do that will you guys die?

With all our education and brain, do you mean to tell me we can’t find a better way to produce cows and give better incentives and subsidies to the farmers at least for starters?
