We are not primarily talking about AFCON experience but international experience. Sadiq and Awoniyi don't have international experience and that is a big gamble. You don't gamble with your attack, although I don't blame the coach. No thanks to injury (Osimehn) and club politics (Ighalo)
Oga make I hear word

I can boldly say that you will make a very bad coach

Before a player gains international experience he will start from somewhere ,if we are always looking for international experience then all national teams will be empty

There is no gamble playing sadiq or Awoniyi

What was ighalo international experience before the 2018 World Cup ? Even osimhen that’s our top striker which international experience him get ?

Mbappe Busquets Pedro pique pavard ,all these players won the World Cup with no international

Update on Jamilu Collins

- He's yet to arrive, he was missing in yesterday's training.

- No official statement.

- According to my source, Collins is having an issue with his club in Germany, the club doesn't want to release unless he sign contract extension. Collins is not ready to sign a contract extension in January. courtesy of Adepoju Tobi on twitter.
fgs, what’s this rubbish? This man should have been dropped. What’s giving these clubs the effrontery ? Did NFF flout any rule? Is the NFF not supposed to drag these clubs to FIFA

The backroom staff of the super eagles is massive. That Dr Terry guy has 34 international coaching certificates.

He might be the brain behind our success in AFCON
This is an exaggeration. I don't know why we bow to anything American. This man has no prior coaching experience to speak of. His real job was organizing a girl's U10 team in Texas.
Hopefully he turns out to be a good addition but from his CV, the hype you're giving him is unmerited.

A bit harsh Andy coz Zuchyblink actually makes a fair point if you look at things critically. I am not in agreement with him that the lads Awo and Sadiq cannot deliver because they are rookies but he is right to say we gamble on them.
I personally root for them despite their having 1 senior cap between them. Yes Awo and Sadiq have a combined senior cap of 1.

And I think this 1 senior cap thing is what informs Zuchy's stance.

Now on Mbappe, you see... Mbappe that we cite here had 15 senior caps before the Russia 2018 WC.

Pedri had at least 4 senior caps before Euros 2020.

Busquests had about 13 senior caps (including caps at FIFA Confed Cup 2009) before WC 2010.

Pique had about 16 senior caps (including FIFA Confed Cug games as well) before WC 2010.

Pedro also had 3 caps before WC 2010.

I could go on and on. Some senior international exposure was acquired by these lads as prodigies before being unleashed in a major tournament like the WC or Euros. And yes, I know if I dig deeper I will find a few exceptional cases.

But again, like I reinstate, Sadiq and Awo are two lads doing well, especially Awo tearing it up in one of the best 5 leagues on the planet. They are Strikers in form and Fine finishers and I believe they will deliver if chances come their way.

But from the side of caution, Zuchy has a point somewhat.

In all, we have no choice. It will be Sadiq, Awo or Iheanacho leading the lines. And they have my support BIG TIME. All can score goals as long as chances are created.

This is why it is our midfield setup that worries me more than anything else in our team at this Afcon.

andrewbaba44:

People who speak of international experience knows nothing about football

If you don’t give a player the chance to play then we will have no single player with international experience because Na from somewhere person Dey start

Just as you said about mbappe

Busquets ,Pedro ,Piqué , none of these 3 players have international experience when they helped Spain to win the 2010 World Cup

Lambeth Tigers FC have announced that their Under 14 player, Majid Balogun, has officially joined Manchester United, Newspremises reports.

Lambeth Tigers disclosed this in a post via their Instagram account on Sunday.

Balogun is now the second player in Lambeth’s history to join directly from the grassroots from the South of England. The youngster was on the wishlist of several unnamed clubs in England before Man United won the race for his signature. He will be aiming to sign a scholarship with Man United in the next few years.

“Lambeth Tigers can confirm highly regarded U14 forward has officially joined @manchesterunited, becoming the 2nd player in the club’s history to join directly from grassroots from the South of England.

“He also becomes the first player from the Tigers to join the red half of Manchester, we look forward to many more following suit.

“Man Utd won the race for the forward, beating a whole host of clubs from all over the country for his signature,” Lambeth wrote.

Emenike, ighalo were green horns and they scored 4,5 respectively in their first and only afcon appearances. You should be more concerned about the quality of the forward line rather than looking at their experience
you guys should stop this AFCON experience thing we are talking about international experience.

Nerdy I will not count those caps as international experience

Mbappe has not been to any tournament before the 2018 World Cup

You still cannot tell me pedri and Pedro have international experience before the World Cup and euros just because they both have 3 and 2 caps ,one was 18 and one was 20 .

If you don’t give a player the chance then how can the international experience be gained ,it’s not as if the whole players in the team are new players ,at least they are mixed together ,old and young .

Thank you for correcting me about pique playing the 2009 confederation cup ,he was a starter for Spain then and no international experience then ,even pedro 3 caps before the 2010 World Cup where just friendly games .

Our players retire too young and I don't like it. It's always been this way, it causes problems for the new generation of players. There is no one to guide them through their international journeys or eadvice them about club issues. Not good.

Uzoho

Ebuehi
Awaziem
Ekong
Zaidu

Ndidi
Nwakali
Aribo

Chukwueze
Ejuke
Iheanacho as a false 9 , whereby he would constantly drift to the midfield to assist Aribo and also used as a decoy to deceive the opponent defense.

Well, thing is in most of these lads' cases, they are international experience. Among Mbappe's 15 senior caps pre-WC2018 were about 6 WC Qualifiers caps. So you see.

In the end, quality should speak over the experience talk when focus is on the attack.

From reports it seems Eguavoen wants his side to press so Nwakali might not be ideal.

TheGoodJoe:
From what I have seen so far from the training sessions and responses from the head coach, this is my expected formation.

We are going to play a high line possessive game and technique will play a huge role. Ball playing skills will play a big part too. Also long balls from deep will play a big part. So Awaziem and Ekong will work. Aina's offensive duty will play a part.
