You have to be careful when buying Suya Meat. Some of this suya sellers actually sell vulture meat... Most times they poison the carcass of dead animal in the abattoir and once the vultures descend to feast on the dead animal they get weak from the poison and they are captured and killed. The vultures are cleaned up and sold as Suya... My friend has fallen victim, there was a thread on nairaland where they caught people catching poisoned vultures. This stuff is rampant in a particular region of the country, i won't mention the part.

Stay safe guys.

Just say north..

This is native chicken. A vulture's neck and tail will be thicker than this.

You took a wise decision not eating it.
And i tell you judging by the curvature of one or two of the nails on that leg, it could be a Vulture like you suspect, because a chicken, turkey and guinea fowl wouldn't have such nails because of scratching the ground often

That's not fulani chicken but vulture meat.

I ate fulani chicken steady and I know how vulture looks.

The Leg and neck in the picture is of a culture, fulani men do come across vulture in the bush at several points even at the place they used to kill cow

Vulture is worth much more being sold alive or dead, than selling it as meat.

All this write up would have been more reasonable and meaningful if you had mentioned the particular region, so people can beware of what they consume.
