I think it has to do with the coin it's associated with I.e YFI, that coin brings pain and sorrow. It was over $100k as at last year. Now it has dipped below $40k.

$3.50 is heavy resistance for FTM. A lot of people rushed it at that price in October anticipating a big announcement with Bïnance which turned out to be a damp squib, leading to a selloff. So a lot of bagholders at $3.50. Coincidentally it was approaching that same $3.50 last week when BTC took a heavy dump, so more bagholders added to the ones stranded there.
