AFCON 2022: Three reasons why Nigeria will Lose against Egypt Today
News Hub Creator

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will be playing theirfirst game in the Africa Cup Of Nations (AFCON) tournament today, and they will be facing a very tough opponent which happens to be The Pharoahs of Egypt.

This game will be a very tough test for both teams, as it may be the decider on who will finish in their group. But if care is not taken, Nigeria are likely to lose this match, and below are the three reasons why i think Nigeria will lose today's AFCON match against Egypt.

1. The Players are yet to understand the new coach's tactics.

The NFF just recently sacked the Nigerian national team coach, Gernot Rorh ahead of this crucial tournament, and it was not the best time to make that decision.

Eguavon who is the newly appointed coach will find it hard to implement his new tactics just ahead of a major tournament, as their was not enough time to prepare. No friendlies were played during that period in order to help the players get accustomed to the new coach's tactics and strategies, in order to understand them.

The coach overseeing his first game against Egypt in a tournament like AFCON will prove difficult for him, as the players are yet to understand his playstyle and tactics, thereby giving Egypt an advantage ahead of this game.

2. No Osimhen and Dennis in the Super Eagles squad.

The Nigerian super eagles will be missing the absence of their two hot strikers, Victor Osimhen and Emmanuel Dennis in this tournament, as the duo were not released by their respective clubs to participate in the tournament.

When a team is missing two of it's best players, it will really affect them, as we all know how these two alone can win you games. With the duo not expected to play, Egypt wouldn't have to worry, and this will be a disadvantage to Nigeria, thereby giving Egypt the upper hand to win and win this game.

3. The presence of Mohammed Salah in the Egypt team.

Egypt have one advantage ahead of other teams in this tournament, and it is the fact that they have the Liverpool star, Mohammed Salah in their squad.

Salah who is in a hot form right now, and arguably the best player in Europe this season so far, is a player that can win you games all by himself, and with him playing against Nigeria today, we'll get to see him to what he knows how to do best, so the Nigerian defence has to be wary of him.

Baba how many South African players dey play for top leagues in Europe despite South Africa having the most developed league in Africa? Should tell you want I mean about their lack of talent.

However, watch the South African National team and see how they play, they don't play like the typical african gidigbo football.

We are not missing Dennis abeg. We were only going to be better with him but we've been playing without him ever since. It's just like saying that we're missing Ronaldo. He was never part of the team in the first place.

Osimhen will surely be missed but we have Taiwo Awoniyi who has done so well this season. He will step up to the challenge don't worry.

This Rohr of a man is an slowpoke. First of all, Algeria and Egypt might have salah and mahrez 2 global superstars but overall, our players are collectively rated higher. So, how can he insist that we shouldn’t aspire or believe that we can defeat both because of salah and mahrez… the man should had been fired immediately after 2018 World Cup simply because of lack of believe. The first step to winning, is believing that you can win and once you don’t believe that you’re capable of winning, the end

On current form, he is one of our best players so yes, he will be missed. Him and osimehn being unavailable is akin to salah being unavailable for Egypt

Sieera Leone is one of the most daring teams in this AFCON. They're not even sitting back. They're leaving their defence to create very good chances. Now i'm seeing why Nigeria conceded to these people. They might score Algeria here.

That is because they have rubbish players. Name 3 decent South African players.

Why is this even an argument?

I swear bro. You see how the player's have been talking confident. Because Eguavoen has told them they have only one assignment: to win Afcon.

Baba Ijebu would have killed their moral by now by reminding them of their fears and preparing to start Simon Moses. Tueh! cool
It is better to aim to win and talk along those lines than that faux humility of Rohr where he talks our team down and tacitly concedes psychological defeat to the opponent even before the game. That's not the Nigerian spirit.

Talk, brag, make mouth. That's the Nigerian way. We are a loud people. If we win, it makes it sweet. If we lose, at least we enjoyed the hope as per the optimism generated by the big talk than that Rohr style where he talks dark.

The thing is that Rohr did not understand our people. See ehn when we brag, it commits us, it inspires us to live up to our word. It's positive blackmail which pushes us to perform. That's our psychology. We see it operate at parties, churches, businesses where the more dem hail you say you be Dangote, the more you go dey show yourself. For me, it makes us a very interesting people. That's why I like Delta and Edo people. Dem get mouth. As an aside have you ever listened to Bash Ali the boxer? He calls himself World Champion

That was why Westerhof as a newbie at the WC said he did not just come to play but to win it. Yeah yeah. That na the naija spirit.

Rohr, Kai Rohr went to WC 2018 and said that we came there to learn. Choi
