One of the easiest skill sets of you can even call it that is the " long ball". It's a skill set , just like walking and running anybody in can do.

There is nothing in unique or outstanding about "police game" long ball. Most teams use technical be ability, skill and tram strategy to retain possession , not the long ball.

Finally, is that what Eguavon said to you

There is no player in that SE selection that cannot kick a long ball.

That so called justification is not justified.

Mbok you are the professional here.

There is a difference between kicking a long ball and doing it with intent, direction, and purpose. Omeruo and Ekong tried long balls yesterday. However, they were unnecessary. Some even untidy and inaccurate.

There is an art that goes with it.

It’s the coach decision for him to be in the team and not me ,even onyekuru with a very poor season made it to the afcon so nothing new .

If you have not seen any hype then you aren’t always on this thread .

Happy Sunday

Maybe so Onyekuru had a poor season but Nwakali has had 5/6 poor seasons consecutively in Europe and is in the far from competitive Segunda Division.

Thank you for reaching out.

I'm not exactly sure how icon4s did it last year, but I think what is required is to make an announcement as to how the awards came about.
The processes involved are thus;
Step 1: Members of the largest and most active super eagles thread on Africa largest forum, Nairaland selected a 5 members panel to oversee the organization of the award.
Step 2: The five members panel with their experience in the Nigeria football scene came up with the nomination categories and nominees for each award
Step 3: The final aware nomination list was make public to all members of the forum to cast their votes according.
Step 4: The winners of each award categories were selected.

I paid a radio station in Benin for the publicity. For every news hour it was announced, I was charged.

What you need do is to write the news about the outcome of the awards, post it and copy him (jubilantagida) in the post.

Meanwhile I am still waiting for the edited version of the announcement so I can send it to a couple of media houses that will not charge us.

Are you ready to be stunned? grin

Spoiler: He worked harder than Ndidi on the day. Ndidi only got better later on in the presence of Nwakali.

I think I have replied the point you made about Ndidi improvements when Nwakali came in. Ndidi was playing with so much confidence and conviction. Lol...well , I am not surprised, Nwakali will make you you enjoy your game.

When I talk now una go say I no like Aribo. Its quite funny how soon you guys forget. Have you forgotten we have been struggling in the midfield with Aribo featuring constantly when Rohr called the shots ?

Why is everyone acting like Aribo is some kind of excellent midfield maestro who has saved us and suddenly Nwakali is here to ruin it. Haven't we been struggling in the presence of Aribo and Iwobi ?

You guys really need to define what Aribo brings to the team....as for me , I am just looking and digging....lol

Aribo is the natural CM support for ndidi. He is the fulcrum around which that midfield turns..

We are yet to see Aribo's full attacking potential because he has been burdened with defensive duties..

One of Nwakali's weakness is his work rate. If you put him in the midfield with Ndidi, his work rate will always let us down and this maybe ignored if he created bucket loads of chances which I am not sure he will do either because he does nothing to boost the attack...

cheesy lol I sleep and wake up here, I just do not enjoy typing that much, I find it burdensome.
Maybe our definition of hype is different.
What you see as hype, I see as explanations.
No one has said he is the best in the world or even in Africa, or the best in segunda ( that is hype) , no one has said he is a finished product either.
All what the supposed hypers have been doing is explaining why they think he should be in the team

The explanation given he is the only quality Midfielder that Nigeria has acces to, that can do long balls and bring stability to the midfield.

When did we start playing " police game"

That is a complete aberration from truth and fact.

We are starting a never do well over those who have done well in clubs and leagues much higher than his

With the hundreds of Midfielder

I am happy to inform you that Awaziem and Nwakali are the two players in this current team with the best passing range of all players.

In Camp, it has been established already. Only that Awaziem nurses an injury now.

safarigirl:

I no know who dey follow you cry since Mikel left O.

E never too tey wey Mikel leave, so, when we begin dey cry these tears?

The only thing we have been crying for, is for Rohr to leave make we know who sabi play ball, and we are seeing that now.

Nwakali has not offered the long balls Eguaveon is looking for, if na by that one, we fit even drop Awaziem inside midfield and you will see more long balls from him. Accurate balls wey fit lead to goals, no be the one wey Maduka go dey chase make e for no enter net.

Take am easy abeg, no advertise market wey you no go fit sell.

If you didn't cry, me I cried. Mikel leaving pained me and I know I for one complained most times about our poor midfield showings. TheSuperNerd cried like a town crier about it repeatedly. Some others did.

2019 looks not so long, but it really is when it concerns National team. We have played an AFCON and qualifiers without such control in midfield.

And all this you noticed because the coach was bad.

The only reason the team has played well so far is because the new coach knows how to use players, it is not because Nwakali came and did anything special.

It is just a difference in coaching and tactics.

Kelechi Nwakali did not have a bad game. He was good at his job.

Finito.

He was bad but not too bad because of the Quality player's around him.

But we could have been so much better if he we had brought on Onyeka.

Lol... you are still missing the point. TheGoodJoe is only pointing out why Nwakali was called up.

We are not even there yet in the passing game as a team especially in the middle.

What Eguavoen has done is found a bypass solution around our passing deficiency in the middle game by making us go more direct and utilise our wingplays to create chances at goal.

Our passing in the middle still needs work. This is part of why he called up Nwakali. And we saw a fine glimpse of why he was called up with his display in 25mins yesterday.

Remember, we have done well so far for the most parts but we were still out-passed by an Egyptian side we dominated in other aspects of the game thanks to our gengen press strategy.

Joe Aribo vs Sudan: Impressive showing.

Aribo in 65mins:

94% passing accuracy (43 accurate passes)
29 passes in own half.
14 passes in/into opposition half.
1/2 accurate long balls (50%)
1 shot on target
1 shot off target
100% dribbling success (2/2)
8/12 ground duels won
1/1 aerial duels won
4 tackles
2 interceptions
1 foul committed
Was fouled twice.
9 recoveries.
Lost possession 7 times.

Also, Had a key pass to Awoniyi that set up a very good cross pass that was not utilised in the end. The stats didn't pick that up as a Keypass but I do.

Cc Idennaa. You asked for it. wink

Not really that impressive if we break it further down:

*An attacking midfielder made 29 back passes into own half and 14 into opposition half. *I expect this posting from a DM.
* Only 2 dribbles from an AM on for 65 minutes.
* Long ball abilities is zero , of course.
*Lost possession of ball 7 times...very poor and contributed to weak midfield.

Anyways , I will give him credit for 8 ground duel won, 94% passing rate and 9 recoveries made. However , I am not impressed.

Looolll... It is the other way round. Ndidi looked far better due to the entrance of Nwakali. His presence practically brought out the best in Ndidi for the final 25 mins of that game.

That is an eye-test truth.

Your first question is a no, we not confirmed as table toppers now because if super eagles loose by a goal margin we will be on +2, while Egypt winning by 3 goal margin they will top us and be on +3
H2h before goal difference
As it stands, Nigeria wins the group

I think he also recorded the most recoveries (9).

It actually was due to Nwakali yesterday. He brought the calm and the balance in the middle game. Even Ndidi looked reborn with Nwakali’s entrance.

Stating otherwise will be sounding highly untruthful.

In all, credits to the technical crew for making the change. It was needed.
