Lol, virtually every business had massive sales November/December, everyone knows it's the period when goods and services are at higher demands. FYI, the surge on bolt came towards the xmas week, and peaked on new years eve when people were reportedly seeing 3X surges.

I put it to you that the high commission is what's actually pissing out most drivers, 600 is the minimum price for any trip, but now bolt has increased its commission to 25.4% albeit not officially, we're told the 5% increase is on the riders which is actually a lie. 600 trip still stays at 600, which is supposed to be like 635 or thereabouts, which isn't so, and recently it seems the fare has been reduced also.

Many drivers are now flocking to indriver as it pays them cos of reduced commission.

God bless you.
I noticed it this morning they deducted 24.5%
If I talk they will say we are complaining, bolt stylishly increased there commissions grin

The only difference btw bolt and Uber is the destination on bolt.

Hopefully our uche will proof us wrong

This is not true.

I think Bolt takes that off the customers, not drivers or so.

My point is: some people here condemn the business vehemently but same people goes behind hitting the road as early as possible.
If they’re not exposed, they wouldn’t tell you they’ve got some side hustles.

The fact that you said some have ported to indriver shows people would always find their way around situations as indriver is also an ehailing app.

The business isn’t as bad as some persons paint it here. Someone here shared their strategy of 8 - 5pm or thereabouts and still making something reasonable.

Nairaland isn’t real life sometimes. No job is that easy.

Let’s keep pushing the hopes alive.

Cheers!

It's definitely true bro, base fare of any trip, irregardless of distance is 600, bit add the said 5% commission its suppose to give you a total of atleast 635, but its a lie, the minimum trip still remains 600. The driver bears the 5% cost eventually.

My bad then. I thought people clarified it not to be so.

Let’s stay positive, look beyond the current challenges, plan for the future and dump this for something higher.

I drive everyday. I was advised to change it after every 6 weeks. The problem is spending such money on servicing is not funny.

If i enter airport rd from oshodi, before i reach Nahco i won’t finish corolla speedometer?

I dey tell you.
I come dey think whether car speedometers and speed vary... grin abi 2 cars fit dey go at parallel pace, make one dey read 140km/h and the other 60kmh? Based on say one na Benz and the other na corolla?

Speaking about finishing speedometers, I have finished the speedometer of a Chevrolet Express cargo van on 3rd mainland. Next was a Toyota Matrix, Lagos - Ugep in Cross Rivers state, was on a road trip with a friend.

Truth is, if you love to drive (in well lit areas and smooth roads) late nights and early mornings, especially on weekends (Saturday and Sunday early mornings), you would love speed and may master it.

Quite frankly d only skill u need to succeed is if u can drive very well then if u like driving. As u work u will develop other skills that will make d job easier in terms of earnings and comfort.
So provided the person isn't a rookie in driving generally he can take up HP at anytime if given d opportunity.
If u r referring to a rookie in driving, I don't even recommend a learner driver to do Uber work whether rental or HP cos d rigours and mental work involved will take its toll on the person making him have many unpleasant experiences.
The Bolded Noted. Nice explanation. More wisdom to you, brother. Appreciate.

It's a matter of choice.
But u don't expect the owner of a used car to dash u d car simply cos it's used. Right?!
No be small thing. It's a good one sha.
Thanks, boss.

It do varies sometimes. Inaccurate speedometer reading is very common here since we are fond of changing the size of our tyres to bigger tyres. It affects speedometer reading

Always cool your phone with the AC by placing it directly in front of the vent but don't just leave it there for too long oh your phone will freeze and might even stop working or go blank. I've experience.

What is the inbuilt memory capacity of the phone you use? Make sure it has enough internal space for both Gmap and the Bolt apps to work properly otherwise you'll have these issue you just explained. Delete some things that are not relevant to free space.

Welcome to the club bro
