I went to Alliance Francaise towards the end of last year.
According to the receptionist, you'll pay 25k every month to attend the classes. You'll also buy some books before the beginning of each level (I think there are 3 or 4 levels).
If you're a beginner, I think you'll have to spend about 9 months on learning French. Then, spend extra 1 month or so to focus on the specific things you need for TCF or so.

Please can I use French as my first language to reduce my score atleast and maybe remove my husband ECA so I can qualify for Ontario one. I am conflicted between TEF and TCF. I know they are both acceptable for immigration purposes but I don't know if one is better than the other.

So, I would like you guys' learned opinion on what the difference is between the two and if you would recommend one over the other. For example, someone was telling me that while TEF has negative marking, TCF does not. He also said that while TEF makes a distinction between a high B2 and a low B2, TCF simply has B2. Now I'm not sure what the ramifications of a low B2 would be for one's immigration application and I would really appreciate getting your opinion on this.

You can use it however I think your scores may be drastically low. Try simulating it before using it. It also depends on your NOC though. For those of us that are into French, we have Ontario French speaking stream, New Brunswick ( which is the only recognized official province for french) and also Quebec. So this thread should be about those options. Every member of this lovely group should begin making research on these 3 french PNP routes and dropping info here daily so that we can all maximize the opportunity.

Please did they pick everyone with this score range that has tef or they used Nocs? I want to know if its possible to write Tef and reduce my score to this range, if they are not using Nocs.

I used Tobidam and I got to know them from this thread too. They are very efficient.I learnt French from beginning and was also prepared for TEF exam and I came out brilliantly then.They have their personal tips and strategies (also materials) dedicated to each module to make you ace the exam at first attempt. However, It is mainly a Live online school and you must get ready for serious hardwork and commitment as they are very strict on classworks, assignments and their mock prep exams.
