Things dey happen for Nigeria oh. A train line that's yet to become operational is now being dubbed as the fastest in Africa.

I thought the procedure would be to have it tested, up and running before claiming the rights. It's just like saying my house is the tallest in Africa meanwhile it has only been conceptualized inside my head.

We're better than this please. Although if sanwo olu can make it happen, he's assured of second tenure and even a bigger political office after Lagos.

Eko o ni baje
The train line would probably have been completed if Ambode had not neglected it. I'm apolitical but there's a lot of negativity in you.

My people shall never fail to disappoint. Why such a high-powered engine for a short distance?
That's exactly the 1st thought that came to mind.Lagos is a crowded chaotic city with indisciplined people. This is a prime recipe for serious accidents to happen.

Some people can not just do without insulting people on the platform in the name of commenting.
It is well

How many minutes it takes to cover 37km?
Go and ask people living within the axis how many minutes it takes them to drive from the point the train will take off and to the spot it will stop.

But why would an intracity train have a kitchen?

Did anyone say those are the actual trains coming to Nigeria? And if so did they say that is how they will come?
It may just be a display sample or it could be refitted before delivery
Just a little engagement of the brain in thinking smiley

Great news...TBH, Sanwo Olu is really performing. I hope he will be considered for the top position in the future. I respect him.

So how much went to Tinubu from this project ?

We know he gets percentage for every projects executed in this Lagos

The greed is just too much
If your past governors in your ròfòròfò states have been getting percentages and allowing your state to move on, you would have stayed back in your poverty stricken dirty state and leave Lagos matters for real Lagosians.

Same question came up in my mind. They'll have to extend the reach and range of the trains to maximize their speed capacity.
They should be able to travel round the whole of Lagos daily. One going in one direction, the other in the opposite direction.

Obviously some people have no idea how trans work in developed nations

They are not powered by diesel locomotive engines inside the trains like what we use in Nigeria

High speed trains are externally powered by electricity. So there is a supply of high voltage electricity running above the entire train track from start to finish
The trains draw power using a PANTOGRAPH and converts this to mechanical energy
If those same carriages are connected to a diesel locomotive engine they are no longer going to travel at high speed
I wanted to ignore you but... The bolded just pushed me...
Look every carriage in an electric trains have electric motors which are powered by the over head cables which the trains connects to via a pantograph...

Diesel trains also have the same carriages with electric motors..but In this case..the power comes from a generator which is powered by a diesel engine...

In short...they are all electric trains but that of the diesel trains generates it own power ...while the electric trains get their power from the overhead wires...

You can bring an electric train into Nigeria as far as it is connected to a diesel generator which can produce enough power to run the entire motor system to speed..

What is confusing you here is that you think.. .in all diesel passenger train.. The first carriage housing the engines actually pulls the rest of the carriages and that is false....make ur proper research... Modern diesel train carriages have motors and they get power from the diesel generator

So the trains operating in Nigeria today are electric trains?

NGpatriot:
They are talking about the trains, not the line, the installed engine in the trains are high speed engines.

My car was designed and made to go all the way to 260 mph, but I don't have to drive it on the road or speed down the expressway to know that it has the capacity to do 260mph.

The fact that they are high speed trains doesn't mean they are going to be going at high speed from station to station.
Thanks for the explanation. Some bad belle will not want to hear it, always available to condemn Tinubu.

WHO DO THEY THINK THEY ARE FOOLING. That train cannot do 90Kmh , nor is the track capable of handling a 330 km/h train for a 37km track. I am surprised they are not calling it Africas only /first high speed train service
Mean while the Governor will not use it, but close half of Lagos roads, just to visit his side hen
