Hi, I just got a 2009 C350 but I messed things up after taking it to a car wash for its first body wash....I was told I could wash the engine as they would cover sensitive parts lest water get to them, if only I knew better not to allow them wash the engine. Car has been seriously misbehaving since then.

First, their pressure hose broke my Break fluid sensor,
The engine has been misfiring too
2ndly, my lights and AC been coming on and off as they like, as if these weren't enough, the radiator fan now blows aggressively non stop, it's just too loud and annoying. The speed and noise gets me shy when driving around. Something that should work with Thermostat and only come on when AC is put on or when the temperature is high, it now blows non stop at full speed.

What do I do please. I love this car and I just wanna enjoy it, after the 2005 C230k wahala I had with mechanic back then. I plan to take it for scanning today but I still wanna hear from you guys, my online fam.

Get a good mechanic,a good benz mechanic .

Your mechanic should inspect both front and back SAM (FUSE BOX). As it stands, water must have compromised it.

Beautiful car you've got there, kindly don't allow any cutting and joining of wire to avoid stories that touch.

I think water and break oil, my break oil container was bad, while my mechanic was trying to fix it, he had the fuse box box opened already, naso break oil pour into it, he tried cleaning it up though but I guess the damage had been done. I'm not now sure if it's the break oil that spilled or the washing or both.

Thanks, I won't allow that, I brought it here to get good suggestions, if they can't fix it in Osun here, I might take it to Lagos...I hope they do though cos trafficators ain't working even though, when emergency gets turned it, it works.

Get the car scanned with a star diagnostic machine preferably and as suggested, the front SAM should be checked also. If you have a very good Benz rewire, issues will be resolved. Been driving the C300 of this for about 8 years, you will enjoy it.

SAM (FUSE BOX) is very sensitive. Get it removed and well cleaned and dried by an mechanic who knows how. If it doesn't work after installation,I guess it's time to buy a new SAM. Budget from 200k and above for that. I repeat again, don't allow any cutting and joining of wire,if you don't trust the mechanic, make sure you are with whoever is getting it fixed when it's being done. I am speaking from experience, before dem go carry denso toyota FUSE add join your benz SAM. Good luck champ.

Example of my ordeal below, denso toyota FUSE inside Mercedes Benz sam,I learnt the hard way grin

Ok champ, good luck on that,I'll advise you tell them to open the top cover of your SAM when they are done, so you can be sure there are no cut and join or DENSO TOYOTA FUSE doing meet and greet like davido and wizkid last week cheesy
Na all this cut and join dey make benz catch fire for express, may it not be your portion.

If it is fixed right, you will enjoy that ride no doubt.

Better go collect your motor.

Na so I be dey do when I newly buy motor dey waste money thinking every other mechanic na Kazeem

There's nothing in a 2008/2009 car that a good Kazeem cannot do. Ask questions and look around you, people are fixing their Benz and they are not spending ridiculous amount of money to fix it.

All the listed things identified are no way related to the problem your car is experiencing right now. Not even with the cut-throat quotation,go collect your car bro,dem go build mansion for your head o.

By the time dem quote SAM price give you,you go ask if na another c300 dem wan sell for you.

I'm really confused right now, he's claiming I need to change Steering angle sensor. How does replacing this help solve radiator fan problem, trafficator problem and AC wahala.

Hello guys I just got the w166. The car is superb and perfect. The Ac cools but the compressor trips off after like 5mins and blows just air...it picks up later. What shud be the problem? A benz mech said it's the compressor sensor..

Hey guys, I just upgraded to a GLE450 coupe from the former CLA250. CLA was too low.

Question now is the oil to use for the GLE. Usually I used Mobil 1 for the CLA. But looking at the oil cap of the GLE, it says use Recommended Mercedes-Benz oil.

Are they referring to Mobil 1 or they have a special Mercedes Benz oil (I think I've seen something like that before)

Hopefully they haven't performed this work. They shouldn't have unless you authorised it in writing.
Re: Mercedes Benz Thread by EgunMogaji2: 4:26pm On Jan 25, 2022
I have a GL450 coming from Los Angeles. It has two known issues when I picked it up but I didn't have time to sort it out over there.

1) Engine rpm systematically hunts up and down. I know it's due for a service.

2) There is a shudder from the transmission when warmed up. From research it might be the converter.

None of this is alarming and is reflected in the purchase price but I need the right mechanic/shop here locally.

Is there a Gazzuzz or RadAutoWorks of Mercedes in Ibadan? A real shop with demonstrated Benz experience not a shade tree Tiamiyu like me.

Thanks.

Personally I like the technical thought process of Mercedes engineers. For luxury trucks it's Mercedes for me. For luxury sedans then it's BMW.

Life's short. Try as many brands as possible.
