Innocent Chukwuma, Chairman, Innoson Group of Companies Nigeria limited, says the federal government, under President Muhammadu Buhari, has given enormous patronage and support to his firm, Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM).

Mr Chukwuma made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Nnewi, Anambra.

He also named Enugu, Ebonyi, Ekiti, Imo, Kogi, Anambra, Gombe, and Bauchi as well as Nigeria military among the states buying Innoson vehicles.

Mr Chukwuma further told NAN that if patronage is given to his firm, it could transform Nigeria into a vehicle manufacturing hub in Africa in no distant time.

“I can say that Innoson vehicle manufacturing is doing well, especially with the level of patronage and support the company is enjoying under the present federal government, led by President Muhammadu Buhari.

If they get support, then they can improve! Korean cars were a no,no 20years ago, now they are beating the Japanese cars in US. Chinese cars 10years ago looked terrible, but now they are also close to the Korean /Japanese and would probably be at par with them in 5years or so.

No vehicle manufacturing company produces all the parts of their vehicles.
Toyota buys batteries from another companies. The electrical components in Toyota and Lexus are from Denso, the audio system in some LExus RX series is from Band & Olufsen but you can't say Toyota isn't a vehicle manufacturing company, can you?

The propulsion system is the most important thing and its toyota same cannot be said about innoson the funny thing is that he ordered the engine and almost every component and still cannot repackage it lol

But they produce their own propulsion system and not order it for reassemblage and they have their own unique design, not like innoson who is obviously ordering all the parts for reassemblage in nnewi and cannot even come up with his own unique structure for his car, the only thing he has the capacity to change is the logo

Anything home made is always expensive. That's why oil is not really a blessing for Nigeria
