A woman was left crying so hard after suspected fraudsters made away with her husband's hard earned money.

It was gathered that the lady’s ATM card was seized by the ATM machine and she was Asked to go and come back on Monday by security men.

But she was devastated to discover that after 20 minutes, unknown men wiped her N243,000 Naira her husband gave to her for shop rent.

The incident reportedly happened at one of the branches of first bank.

D security men and whoever is in charge of the atm are complicit in dis new system of fraud. Whoever recovered the card from the machine has a lot of questions to answer. I always tell ppl, if U have an atm card, den there is need for U to have d banks mobile app. From my app I deactivate my cards easily weneva I can't find it and in d case of first bank I can chose to deactivate specific services like POS and Online payments the card.

No it doesn't. I deactivated my card from working on POS terminals and to work on only ATMs and forgot. They declined my card at the petrol station wen I tried paying. Na wen O reach house I remember say I deactivate am

For firstbank mak sure ur app is updated. Sign into d app and under settings locate card services. Go to Debit card and select. U shld see ur debit card linked to the account and the services active on the card. Select anyone to activate/deactivate. They are POS, ATM and Online abi Internet banking. For other bank users I think d process should be pretty much the same. Jus go to ur app menu or settings and locate card services or any option on ur debit card. Access Bank only gives option to deactivate the card and not specific services

Security Man may be involved or the card later come out and those mofo use the opportunity to wipe her account

Maybe she needed the assistance of someone at that ATM machine...then the person swapped the ATM card...inserted the swapped one and entered the pin....so the machine swallowed the card

Whereas the real ATM card is still with the person....after that the person walked to the nearest pos and withdrew all the money

Because you can't use ATM machine to withdrew more than 150,000

Avoid banks that are prone to fraud, banks like Access, uba, first, gtb, eco, zenith and the rest. Go and open you a union bank. Buhari's share in that bank is making it one of the best and still standing banks in Nigeria.

though these fraudster are sharp but before they can access your account they need a little bit of cooperation from the account number

like exchanging card details and otp

most of the customer come to the bank and deny such exchange

and the nigeria system make it difficult to get the thieves.
