Hello people, pls I need guidance on a situation I am in. 1. My school admission is for May 2022. My passport expires in August. I applied for passport renewal but I could get a date for capture for the last week in February. Can I apply for the study visa with my passport that would expire in six months. 2. I have to travel for work on the day I have my medical appointment at IOM. Is there a way to reschedule to about 2 days later. I’d really appreciate your input. Thank you. |

Good evening everyone. I submitted my application to Conestoga College since November, 2020 for September , 2022 intake. I appled for Career Development Professional (0869) - No Decision and Management in Community Services (1276) - Waitlisted since November. I have received correction mails twice stating that i should upload a letter of intent, i did the first time and just got the second mail tonight saying "re-upload letter of intent (error code : unable to open uploaded copy)". I'd appreciate help please, i last uploaded in PDF format just like other documents. Also can anyone put me through writing the LOI, I only wrote to suit the course waitlisted. Thank you |

Please I need help guys. I got admission to Fanshawe College for one year PGC in Business Analytics, May 2022 and I have paid the tuition deposit. I applied for study visa 29th Nov 2021 but got a rejection mail today based on financial status and personal assets. I don't understand why the rejection because I submitted a personal statement, sukuku bond certificate and I attached my payslip. I terminated my Mutual funds in Oct 2021 to make up the total funds in my personal account but I didn't state this in my SOP because I felt it will be visible in the account statement where the lump sum came from. However, in December, I decided to send LOE for the N5m lump sum and also attached the statement of my Mutual funds account. This I sent via Web form and emails, not sure they got this because my profile was not updated nor did I receive any email on it. Upfront medical submitted last Friday. I'm confused on how to proceed. I want to order for my GCMS note, how long will this take if my Sis in Canada helps? Should I go ahead and make the balance payment of my tuition? Can I reapply without GCMS note using the new portal? I moved funds from my account back to mutual funds to earn some interest while waiting for the visa outcome... Now I have to terminate again so I can reapply. NB: I still have a valid Canadian vist visa. @Anon123 @justmellow @frankrobbn1 and all gurus, Kindly assist. |

I dont know if my situation would help you but I had a name in my passport that was not on my certificate. I had two middle names in my passport, which was infact a mistake. So Mary was included in my passport abut was not on my certificate. This however did not pose any problems for me when I applied for my UK US and Canada visas. Although when I was applying for my Canada visa I just went to sign an affidavit saying I bear both names. Nonswa: |

Perhaps you can list the payment options your school gave you, maybe then we would be able to help and help you identify which one is Form A. Also, you are applying for a study permit. Study visa is what you are given when the permit is approved i.e the visa stamped on your passport. They are more or less the same thing and can be used interchangeably. AlexBarbara: |

Please do upfront medicals. It is one of the things that delay people if they don't do it on time. Yes you can pay later y making a transfer. That is what I did. emmalextemtop: |

ShallyK:i guess the bolded caused it. After sending LOE to explain the 5m which you didnt do initially you went ahead to move 10m out again. |

This ought to have been stated on your acceptance letter. Check the program end date on your letter of acceptance. Sam796476: |

No you cannot go to the embassy to ask. Everything is done online. Watch youtube videos, read this thread and do your research. All you need is time and you would find out all. Bankkydarry: |

Thank you sir, I will look into it. Am very grateful for the responses so far. But I have a challenge with area of research, u know our Nigerian school system, we dnt do research and most times after school, we dnt tend to get a job in line with what we studied. I have always wanted to work in an oil company so I can have an experience, but it never came even after series of applications and interviews. Also with respect to my final year project, it was not related to anything petroleum, but Solar, but I have always had interest in petroleum, that's why I want to do a masters in that area. Pls how do I go abt this when I dnt have research experience and also my final year project was not in petroleum. Lekiboboe: |

| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by Osemigho: 10:27pm On Jan 31, 2022 |
ShallyK:If your sis is a candian PR, let her apply for your GCMS note. Stop moving money up and down. Just explain how you accumulate it and submit all the necessary documents. I can confirm to you that they accept mutual funds and fixed deposit because a recent applicant submitted those and got PPR. Can your funds all cover your tuition and living expenses considering your family situation? There are funds implication if you married, married with kids, or single. All the best. |

angel4sure:After you figure out what your potential supervisors are doing, you play with words to tailor your email. For instance, petroleum and solar falls under energy. You can use energy or solar energy when reaching out to petroleum profs. You can also focus on your area of interest rather than past research. Sorry if you answered these questions before but let me ask to make sure you are on the right path. 1. Are you going for a masters or PhD? 2. What is your highest degree and GPA? 3. When did you graduate from your last program? What have you been doing since then? |

| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by LordMenasseh: 11:24pm On Jan 31, 2022 |
"Form A" is the name of the form(s) most banks use to do foreign transactions and payments over here. The school instructs you on what foreign account to pay the money into (payment advice/order/instruction) and you use that exact information to fill all the necessary forms and then the bank processes it. Study permit is the same thing as student visa. The visa is your "permission" to go to Canada as a student for the specific purpose of studying there. AlexBarbara: |

Hello, I want to submit my study permit application this week after getting all my documents, please which one is the best to use, the new portal or gckey, also should I go for upfront medical before submitting or after submitting my application because I have an appointment for Feb 8th with IOM |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by Onlinedoctor: 11:57pm On Jan 31, 2022 |
Please from recent info it seems the new portal is faster and the definition upfront medicals is when you do your medicals before IRCC make a request so pls go ahead with your medicals on the 8th Azedolf: |
