Emils:Edo no be Lagos, Lagos is too sophisticated and more dynamic than edo. Pedro revolted against the lagos apc machinery by contesting governorship under a different platform, samething with obanikoro and jimi agbaje, but they all regretted it and came back to beg to be admitted back except agbaje. Ambode will live to regret it if he comes out under a different party. 2 Likes |

trutharena:Don't mind them. Even when the section of Edo State people who chanted "Edo no be Lagos" are now reeling in disappointment, these shallow minded triumphalists are still celebrating what has since be realized to be a fraudulent campaign gimmick. Obaseki's second godfather, Wike of Rivers State, has just revealed yesterday that Obaseki long sold a historical Edo State property in Portharcourt for N4.5bn without the knowledge of Edo State people.... meaning that he himself is actually the one cornering the state's resources while pointing accusing fingers at others in the name of fighting the same godfatherism he ironically rode to power. In all of these the Edo-no-be-Lagos chanting Igbos and this ignoramus Osun State PDP member has not said anything about Wike's revelation let alone Obaseki's struggle to become the newest godfather in the Edo State Chapter of his PDP. Crass hypocrites. 2 Likes |

All of them saying Edo no be Lagos, but still Lagos state government is performing better than Edo state government. I wonder why nobody is talk about a governor in southeast that has already announced his successor even before election. 1 Like |

APC must remain in Lagos and all Yoruba states, PDP have no sense of leadership, no vision and ambition. The only people that want APC out of Lagos are the non yorubas who wants to turn Lagos to a no mans land. PDP is filled up with fake and half yorubas who do not have the interest of yorubaland at heart. If ambode knows what is good for him, he should stay away from politics because PDP will push him to his grave. 2 Likes |

rippa: You forgot that Ize Iyamu was the founder of the Edo State chapter of the AC which would later metamorphose to ACN and to APC. The mistake Iyamu actually made was to ever leave the ACN for PDP in the build up to 2016 election. Again, the very fact that Obaseki's margin of victory over him was slim in 2020 validates the arguement that his complacency which made him leave too many stones unturned about the 2020 election cost him his victory which was all too obvious for being a grassrooter. It can't really be said that the choice of Obaseki amounted to Edo people issuing a statement against godfatherism because; firstly Obaseki's votes where not overwhelming as the margin was too slim. Secondly, those who made up the slight margin fell for innocently for the rather puerile campaign that he was being asked to share the state's resources....a claim which is now known and acknowledged to be a fraud as he himself has since reelection not been able to account for the revenues which have been accruing to the state from both IGR and Federal Allocation. 1 Like |

rippa:I am from Edo State and your assertion is watered down by the fact that in 2003 election Lucky Igbinedion's biological father publicly declared that his son failed woefully yet added that he had however paid for the Governorship seat hence no one should attempt wrestling a second term from his son. What could Edo people do other than voting for Lucky Igbinedion this time more overwhelmingly for him for a second term? While I agree that there is in the average Edo man that gene of resistance to undue control, I would also say that the gene in question has become very recessive and now heavily influenced by sentiments combined with partial ignorance especially among Edo youths of age 30 and below. Is Obaseki not currently ruling like Adolf Hitler? He has demolished the Central Library for a shopping mall, demolished General Hospital for a motor park, sold Edo Line building in Portharcourt for N4.5bn, hoarded palliatives during COVID-19 period, etc and not even a single demonstration has been staged anywhere in Edo State. 2 Likes 1 Share |

I do not support Godfather in politics but Ambode messed up while he was a Governor. Many people just because of hatred for Tinubu (who I will never vote for) shut their eyes to the obvious and decide to support someone who isn't fit. A very good case study was waste management in Lagos State where Lagos turned to dump site. This occurred because of Ambode. He wanted everything to be by him and him alone. An existing system is working, the best you can do is to upgrade it to perform better and not to destroy that system for a new fresh idea that has never been test runned before. Go to the secretariat back then and see how he made many redundant. Everything must be from him. Being a governor does not mean you should be carried away by the position. We criticise Tinubu but forget that Fashola was once a Governor and he did 2 tenures. How do you think he achieved this? Of course, he had many supporters who wanted him to continue even when the Godfather wanted otherwise. What happened to Ambode? Where were his supporters? Ambode created more enemies than friends and he paid for this by loosing second term bid. 1 Like |

nextstep: You just took it out of my mouth. Oshiomhole didn't build a deep and broadbased loyalty across the state, else Obaseki wouldn't have had such level of sympathy votes. For example during Oshiomhole's time as Edo State governor, he embarked on very fundamentally impactful infrastructural projects, but in doing so he discriminated against some LGAs and communities on the excuse that they didn't vote for him but his contenders in the PDP which couldn't do any single project in their communities. While he logically and philosophically had a good point by that, he forgot that politics is not an endeavor that runs strictly on logic and deep thought but on constitutional provisions. Such communities he neglected in vengeance for always voting for the PDP which failed them left in them a bitter heart which propelled them too to cut their pound of flesh by voting for Obaseki's reelection even though they knew that neither Obaseki would look into their plight of neglect. On the contrary, Tinubu didn't discriminate in Lagos and justify it with any arguement hence he is accepted and cherished across all parts of Lagos. 1 Like |

HIGHESTPOPORI: What some of you mistake as cowardice as regards SW people is their value system which abhors ingratitude and affront to benefactors. Recall how Yorubas, in thier abhorrence of Akintola's effrontery against Awolowo their revered leader, set Nigeria on fire which culminated in the fall of the First Republic? Similarly, some of them never forgave Abiola for ever working against Awolowo. So how do you term such people cowards? It is at the core of their value system that it is wrong for a beneficiary to later have the guts to raise his shoulders against his benefactor. Even Northerners hate ingratitude and arrogance same way, and ideally that is how it should be. 6 Likes 3 Shares |

HIGHESTPOPORI: False! How many regions has a politician with a political weight like Tinubu? The entire South East and South South has none like him. He has built a political empire with loyal and dedicated followers. Kwankwanso has that kinda force too. But Tinubu is a force. To knock him off, you will be fighting an army. His tentacles go far deep into the grass root. That guy got it! 4 Likes 1 Share |
