The major reason most Igbo businessmen are not investing in Southeast is because doing business is more difficult in the area than any other region, the Managing Director of FIT Consult Ltd, Chief Loretta Aniagolu, has said

she explains in better for you ,she is a business woman and she is igbo ,so read it

Try and visit Aba, Awka, Nnewi, Onitsha, Enugu Industrial layout, etc and then you will understand better.

Most of you think SE is as underdeveloped as Oyo or Osun.

Please plan a visit no need writing much. You will be shocked. Thats all I can say, visit any of the cities in SE I mentioned. Try it

Whether bigger vessels berth at the Port or not it's still thesame result. Besides if the river is dredged the port can receive bigger vessels, I don't see that happening soon but this one is just as good, from apapa to Onitsh, Onne to Onitsha, Warri to Onitsha or all three and vice versa, that's a serious money maker

porthouse7:
like i said ship will never berth at d port, they only move cargos in barges, just a very tiny river moving cargos in barges depending on ports from lagos and onne... dat one na port?

shut up!

isnt it true that 90% of Yoruba's dont even know where dey come from...the ones that manage to know dont even want anything to do with the rustic mud villages because their aunties and uncles who are witches and wizards in the village will attack them especially when they feel to go out and ease themselves at night.

Omo yoruba do u know the road to ur village?
And Yoruba states still have more population than your Igbo undeveloped deserts that all Igbos are running away from.
Yoruba people stay to enjoy the development they have brought to their region through hardwork and smart thinking.
They travel abroad...which is the only place better than their region while Igbos flee to the SW which is richer and much more developed and progressive.

OsuAmaka:
When Anambra airport was being commissioned, deluded folks like you said Lagos airport would go dry, so, I ask you how has Lagos airport being affected now?. You forgot that there is an International airport in Enugu, there's also a airport in Imo, yet those ghost airports could not pull a strand of hair off Lagos, Abuja and Kano Airports.

Talking about Onne seaport, how many vessels have berthed at the terminal since it was dredged and open up?. From the development, Maersk directed their vessels to be routed through Onne port, while the news tickles your fantasies, you were all gloating about ibos abandoning Lagos port. We wonder what is stopping ibos from patronizing their dearest Onne port where activities remain skeletal.

Innoson is a private enterprise seeking public patronage just as any private business but ibos are busy crying on our shoulders to accept innoson as a national brand. The entitlement mentality that seeks to compel Federal Government to buy Innoson as a gesture of making ibos feel they are part of Nigeria. What a disgusting mentality.
Proforce like Innoson is a privately owned car manufacturing company yet Proforce is rapidly divesting and expanding across West Africa region. He has established his manufacturing plants in Kuwait, UAE, etc. He did all that without making noise or Yoruba crying in the media for Government to patronize him. Now that Dangote has opened his car factory, we are waiting to witness another cry of marginalization from you guys. The earlier ibos realize that we owe you nothing, the better for all of you. Stop disturbing our peace. We have over 250 ethnic groups in this country.

-Osu amaka
You are indeed Slave, going by your name OsuAmaka. Your mentality is indication of many mindsets like you who is engrossed in tribalism and ethnic bigotry. This won't help us. Anything good in Anambra can benefit other Nigerians, include you. So,stop your hate and self serving posturing.

Igbos have been adjudged as the most poverty stricken people in southern Nigeria by the World bank and UNDP.
Poverty makes people flee their land to find solace in richer climes.
The number of Yorubas in the entire Igboland is not up to 4000 but Igbos in the SW are more than 5 million.

This is funny, while I get your point you should know that not all region can survive on their own in this country. Take SW for instance and that includes Lagos, say every state keeps their resources how will you power Sw, how will Lagos have power, it will automatically give boost to Onne and Onitsha is even closer to Onne than Lagos. South south has agricultural land even though we're not really utilizing it as we should, SE is also agriculturally sound, south west is very rocky to a good extent, there's a little oil reserve but they don't have gas. You've heard that 60% of containers from lag goes to Onitsha, that's a huge plus to Lagos, from outside Lagos, we've not talked about the ones that goes to pH. If everyone keeps their resources SW will feel it instantly, at least Nepa will first take light

Yorubas are actually poorer than The Igbos. And Igbos are more financially secured than any other tribe, there is even a proven system to raise ppl out of poverty among the Igbos (Google apprenticeship among the Igbos).
The only place with wealth in SW is Lagos, and the entire country is in Lagos with Igbos being either the most or Second

Let me enlighten you a bit.

Natural gas is the second most important mineral resources in the world today and soon it will replace crude oil. And do you know that Southeast have the highest natural gas deposit in Nigeria? Check NNPC data or use Google.

The reason Europe fear Russia is because of their huge natural gas deposit, the whole EU rely on Russia. US is another major producer of natural gas, in fact they are number 2.

On crude oil, they say Southeast have small crude oil reserve, okay let's agree. But do you know why it seems small? Because it is being shared by 36 states, and over 25 of those states don't produce even a barrel. So if Southeast crude oil is being shared by southeast region alone, it will be more than surplus for them. Mind you, I didn't add the crude oil sites politically abandoned by Nigerian government to sabotage Southeast economy just as they intentionally gave Southeast 5 states while every other geopolitical zone have 6 states. These political higihagas are open secrets started after the end of civil war to humiliate Igbos.

You mentioned Lagos. If you can be honest, you know that Igbos are the highest contributors of Lagos IGR.

At least 5 of the major markets generating billions for Lagos State are mostly controlled by Igbo businesses, you know this; Alaba Intl market, Computer Village, Ladipo spare parts market, Trade FAIR, etc.

Yorubas ought to love Igbos so so much for contributing immensely to the development of their region in all ramifications not hating on anything Igbo, it's pathetic.
To be honest with you you're been delusional.
How are igbo generating the highest revenue in lagos?

Now explain how igbo dominated market generates the highest IGR in lagos.

Who are the characters behind This "Universal Regilion" thing?
Folks need to ask more questions in matters like this, because this was how they handed over Onne port to Atiku and Dangote them. Today, Onne port in Rivers state is run like a private Fulani asset..
There is nothing transparent about that company ‘Universal Eligion’. That to me is a red flag.
No website or page to extract any information about them…. in a lay man’s language, they don’t have any known address, no logo, staff or office.

Oyo state has really low ranking in terms of Urbanization, industrialization, agriculture, and General development. If you start a business in Oyo how fast can you grow, they don't even have any resources that is beneficial to Nigeria at this time, maybe Oyo used to be great when I wasn't born but the Oyo wey dey now no get anything. The only thing I see in Oyo is University of Ibadan.
Abia ranks around 5 to 6 in the most developed states in Nigeria and that's well above Oyo. Pls mind yourself with Oyo

Story!
Last time i checked lagos don't depend on government revenue to survive.
Epe has untapped oil reserved but but badagry oil is now been drilled.
Ondo state has more oil deposit compare to any oil state in South East.

Keep giving yourself false hope lol, while we complete largest deep sea port in at ibeju lekki with largest refinery.
Last time i checked imota rice mill at ikorodu will feed most nigeria and still export to other country.

Keep giving yourself false hope.
Anambra is trying but we are not mate tho.

See ur statement lol. Lagos ogun state that has swamp and close to ocean is rocky? shocked

But SE landlock with erosion problem has good land for agriculture lol comedian.
