Please can someone give me a reply to this embarassed
Iamgrac:
Good morning everyone,

This is my first time posting on this platform grin I am gathering documents concerning my visa application, and I've been hearing all about this gift deed, although I already searched about it on Google and already have basic information about it.
But my question is if I get my sponsor to gift me a particular amount of money for the deed of gift, how many months should I allow the money to be in my account before applying for my visa?

And also is there a minimum amount for a gift deed?

I would really appreciate if I can get a response from anyone as this is my first time applying
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by Iamgrac: 10:18am On Feb 06, 2022
@bullstriker thank you so much for you reply, the thing is dat my mum is my sponsor and I heard a gift deed is more like a supporting documents as proof of funds ,that's y I want to know more about it
bullstriker:
If your sponsor is a close relative like parents or siblings, you don’t necessarily need a gift deed. Affidavit of sponsorship or sponsorship letter in addition to a bank statement or MBS is acceptable.

There is no timeline for it. However, because visa officers are not a fan of lump-sum deposits, most people use a gift deed to explain the lump sum in their account, just like you present proof of sales of a property if a lump sum comes from the sale of an asset.

There is no minimum amount for a gift deed. However, a huge amount from a distant relative would be difficult to believe.

Thanks for the reply
Do u have any template for a sponsorship letter?
YinksXO:
No need for a gift deed, you're his sponsor and he's a minor therefore all funds should be in your account. You will also do a letter of sponsorship which you can have notorized. Hope this helps.

Yeah we can keep in touch,
Truth is I'm very scared of how to go about this application, I'm trying so much not to make any mistakes
I sent you and email request if you could accept it.

Hello, congrats on the admission to Seneca college, my daughter would also be going there this September although she's already in Canada for a year 12 program. Let me know if I can help in any way and let's keep in touch, if possible. Good luck with IRCC!

You already said it's a gift deed why would you wait a while? Do you want the officer to suspect you for using the funds for demonstration purposes? There's no specific time period funds should stay in an account it's a mistake people make and a trend officers are aware about. They are concerned with the sources of funds. And you already declared the source by saying it's a gift deed!

So we can travel in March without issues right?

I hope so.. as long as you can prove you have the right amount to care for yourself and the reasons for coming earlier.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by Iamgrac: 10:54am On Feb 06, 2022
I am sorry if my questions are too much,
So all I need to do is to just get the deed of gift letter, the duration doesn't matter?

Hello,

The requirement has always been to travel one month before your program begins, I doubt if that rule has been relaxed, please check. You will not even be allowed to board from the Nigerian airport irrespective of whether you have funds to cater for yourself. Please double check before you buy tickets, good luck!

International students in Canada have the right to change their program or institution as long as their study permit is valid. This means that you can change the college you are studying in Canada after getting a visa or study permit. You must make sure that you meet all the criteria required by your study permit. This involves studying at a designated learning institution (DLI) and regularly participating in your studies in Canada. Note that your main purpose and activity must be studying, therefore, your study program is required to be a full-time basis.

You will also need to inform (CIC) about the college change. This is done by reporting the federal government through your online account that you have currently changed your post-secondary institution. After signing in your online account, you will need to enter your new college’s DLI number, your student ID number and as well as the date you are going to start your new study program.

In Quebec, the procedure of changing schools or study programs is a bit different. If you want to study in Quebec as an international student, you must have a Quebec Acceptance Certificate (CAQ). Those who are already in Quebec as students, need to submit a new CAQ application to be able to change their educational program, school or institution.

Thank you for your response. Please if I choose to go for a degree program in a university with the ND result, would it be 2 years degree program or 3 or still from year one

That will depend on the university and department you are applying to. If you want a guaranteed timeline, go for direct entry degree programs at polytechnics. A degree is a degree in Canada. Some employers actually prefer polytechnics, because of their practical approach, than universities.

Lemme ask, what your OND program and age?

Is it true that one cant apply for visa in a country where one is not a permanent residence.. if one is in UK and not yet a permanent residence, can one apply for visa to Canada.

Not true. You just have to prove your home ties. I know a candidate that successfully applied for another masters in Canada, while completing one in the UK.

She had a Canadian professor that was very very interested in her. Her Canadian school gave her full scholarship and recognized her incomplete UK masters for admission. She completed the UK masters before starting her Canada masters because it was one year.

Hello. I need some help with the following please? For a registered nurse in Nigeria that went through the midwifery council of Nigeria, what level of study would they be able to go for that their RN certificate will be accepted
Then are people who have diploma in Nursing allowed to go for nursing? Will they get visa easily or any Nigerians not given visas for nursing?
Thirdly, can a registered nurse just write the Canada nursing certificate exams from Nigeria or they have to go to Canada first as a student?

Please, I did my biometrics since September 1st 2021 and since then I’ve not been asked to bring my passport or asked for medicals. What do you suggest I do?
Also my dad was my sponsor and we used landed properties worth millions as POF even tho we submitted our bank statement which doesn’t have much money in it, hope this won’t affect me in any way
Thanks, anticipating your response.

Please, any August/September applicant here waiting for IRCC approval? I’ve done my biometrics since September 1st and haven’t heard anything since then, not even medical request

A gift deed is not a proof of fund document; instead, it is used to explain the source of the fund. Regarding immigration, a gift deed is used to let the visa officer know that someone gifted the money to you. For instance, if your sponsor deposits a lump sum in your account, the sponsor should give you a gift deed so that the visa officer would know that the money is not a loan.
You wouldn’t need a gift deed if you submitted the sponsor’s bank statement and the sponsor did not transfer money to your account.

When someone transfers money to you, it should be accompanied by a gift deed because visa officers would like an explanation for any lump sum in your account.
