I do pay before delivery if it is an oversea item.
Moreover, they have a good return and refund policy incaseu dont like what they deliver. Those ones are safer than paying someone u met online for an item.

The Nigerian "shine ya eye" in me has never allowed me pay before delivery despite their good refund policy, then someone expects me to pay an online vendor ,just like that .

Why not give the park instructions not to give out the goods until you receive payment instead?

Brotherly, that's how evil some ppl are in this country. Thank God you haven't sent it already. I don't just know who brought about this idea of payment on delivery �. This has happened to us on many occasions, but God no dey shame us! Sometimes, some ppl will make order and when you call them, they will tell you to bring the package in the next 3 weeks Haa!

So this customer(a nairander) called me and asked for 15 rolls of wallpaper and 15sqm of linoleum which the total was 90,000.

Everyone knows iyana ipaja to jibowu is a very long distance and I did not even charge him for the trip just because I want to please and make my customer happy .

I was in traffic for more than 2hrs and this devil of a customer didn't see the need to call me to inform me that he don't need those items again
I reached peace mass and was negotiating with the driver about the waybill fee and that was when I saw this message below. Funny enough he also blocked me.

As for the wallpaper I can always get another customer that will buy it but the linoleum has been cut into the square meter he want. Selling it won't be easy but God will bring a customer that will buy it.

When this man knows he doesn't have money to pay for an item while ordering it and giving me unnecessary stress.

Vendors please take note of this, when a customer request for anything and he /she can't send money first please kindly ignore them . Most of them are time wasters.

could be someone who discovered your price is over the top..could be person wey u don chop before wey find out.. could be genuine ticket cut .

That's how a guy was on my neck for 2 days that he needs me to verify phone before he makes payment, had to rush down from gbagada to ikeja, after snapping device, video he told me the money he is expecting has not entered. Someone I even called when I was at oshodi before boarding bus to ikeja. If you can't trust me with your money I can't trust you with my time and resources.

Very terrible people. Please always insist they pay before taking the item to them. I have learnt my lesson and won't want anyone to make the mistake I made. If they can't trust you with their money please don't trust them too.

I understand you're upset,which every business man or woman should be , especially in situation like this.

If you decide to adopt these method,which might seen okay with you,most people, including those who genuinely wants to do business with you won't throw cautions to the wind and send you money for an item still in your possession, especially now that online scam have become the order of the day.

The better option is to make use of escrow agent(s), especially when your deal is online and maybe involves fellow nairalanders.
There are some trusted escrow agents here on nairaland,who have got history over the years,and I suppose you know one or two of them.

Employ their service ,to avoid issues of this nature reoccurring in the future.
Just a suggestion,but then,some people can still be arseholes on a good day.
