So you mean supreme Court should go ahead and award the wells to a state without consulting people in the area. If the people must be consulted then it shouldn't start from the Supreme Court.
Blue3k:

Suits between states originate at the Supreme Court because they have original jurisdiction on these matter. Where did the AGF get his law degree.

How is Egbema, who is a brother to Ohaji now from Rivers State since 1927?

Rivers State of 1967? Land grabbers. Ijaw is teaching Wike how to grab lands.

Wike ran to Supreme Court instead of lower Court thinking he will use Justice Odili to buy off justice forgetting that Mrs Odili is not there with Rivers State quota rather that of Imo State.

Hehehehehe grin grin grin

If it wasn’t for pure evil mischief makers bent on marginalizing Igbos by shrinking Igbo territory and giving Igbo towns and villages to states where they have no cultural or linguistic affiliations, we won’t be having this issue. How do you carve Igbos into Cross River, Delta, Akwa Ibom, Benue, Rivers and Edo States?
there is a reason it's called state not tribe

Why does the supreme court have to wait till May when we are still in the first week of February? Are there no free days in the whole of the month of march and April to fix the date of the case?

Hope this is not a ploy to fix the date close to the retirement date of Justice Mary Odili and later adjourn until after her retirement on the 12th of May, 2022 to conclude the case so she won't be able to vote against the interest of the cabals of this govt?

Everyone knows the VAT case is of higher importance to the federal govt. I am sure the VAT case will be decided after the retirement of Justice Mary Odili. Her single vote may be the deciding factor, so the cabals want her out first.

You are right to the extend of the above clause.since the matter is not a matter of constitutional interpretation, it cannot start from the apex court

Lol mumu cry more. The rest says the court decides on questions of fact and law. The court has original jurisdiction meaning the get first bite at any case before the others hence why it was filed with them.

garfield1:

I disagree but we'll see who's correct may 6th. The matter still between two states so they have their right to hear it first. If the say otherwise I'll stand corrected.

I align myself with appellants.their submissions is compelling.the supreme court will have original jurisdiction if the case is straight jacketed or open and close or just a matter of constitutional interpretations.

Honestly if you a lawyer, you will hardly win a case. You don't even understand the technicalities of this case. People in a particular area is involved. I mean identity of a people in that area is affected. So it is only normal and legal to get evidence of the people in the area, making technical for it to start at the supreme court.

I didn't argue the case clown I argued does the Supreme Court have the right to hear the case first. The answer is yes as the constitution says. If the say different may 6th that's fine.

You are too stubborn to understand that there are technicalities that makes supreme Court not able to hear such cases first. Law is not as straight forward like you think.
