Hello dear friend, I know you are worried and feeling down, I want u to cool your nerves as u read this, You have seen lots of comments , bt I want to tell you that , you are not the right path. Most persons here DNT really know much about HIV , the truth is HIV is not a death sentence anymore. First go do a confirmation test, and register with a heart to heart center. Drugs are free in Nigeria. But I want to break a good news to you, there are new HIV drugs which are injectables, they are currently only used in Europe for now, soon it will come to Africa, I think Uganda uses this drugs too, but it's relatively expensive for now.
This new HIV drugs are taken just once in two months, and six times in a year regimen.
Also I will break to you that a cure is closer than ever. There is a functional cure that has started human trail, by American Gene technology pharmaceuticals, also I will tell you that this same month, there's has been a research which showed cancer drugs can bring HIV out of its hiding resoviour, this has been the challenge to why we DNT have a cure for over 40years, bt a greenlight has been show. Also a British company will soon start an HIV vaccine trail, this year, as it has shown promise in intial trial , I want you to calm your nerves. Take your meds while we hang on for the new drugs to come to Africa, and you still have a very bright future ahead.

And there's something my bro told me recently about this hiv tho I'm not too sure, he said there's this injection that costs over 200k or more that if you suspect that u contracted hiv and u take the injection within two days the shot will kill the antibodies or whatever instantly, just the same way pregnancy is prevented with contraceptives

HIV is not the end of life.There are people who have been HIV positive for years and they are doing fine.
The first thing is to do a confirmatory test to see if you are still positive.
Get registered with a hospital, (usually government hospitals) where they have heart to heart clinics.You will be counselled and a test done to check your CD4 count.If low,you will be placed on antiretrovirals which are free.
You will need to leave a healthy lifestyle,avoid certain foods and alcohol.
Generally,you will do just fine.

I think you are indirectly saying there's no need for CD4 count check because if someone's CD4 count is low, what's the point of taking the ARV drugs? What's the drug going to act on?

But the word makes it sound like it's something devilish which I believe is misconstrued.

You are diagnosed with HIV and you think you are finished. Let me tell you, you have just entered another phase of life that will inspire you to live a healthy lifestyle.
The best decision you made was going for the test, the next best decision will be to go to a good hospital (if possible a teaching hospital) and get registered in the PLWHA department, follow the instructions to the letter and make sure you take your drugs as prescribed by the grace of God your C4 count will return to normal.
N/B: Quit smoking if you smoke,curtail your intake of alcohol and get more regular exercise. Get enough sleep of at least eight hours daily.
Above all, build and maintain a positive attitude to life.
HIV/AIDS is not the end of life, you can still live a very normal and successful life if you really want to.

But even before you're given hiv antiretroviral drugs, you must do a confirmatory hiv antigen p24 blood test. And this blood will be taken directly from a vein. Not like the one taken when your thumb is punctured.

Please go for a confirmatory test first...

RVS stands for Retro Viral Screening and it's the Medlab codename for HIV test— usually when a rapid test kit is used. (Named "rapid" because it takes about 20mins for the result to be ready).

RVS is not a definitive test for HIV as some antibodies formed against some diseases can make it reactive/positive. A positive result can also be caused by mistake by the lab personnel. So as you advised, the op should go for a confirmatory test.

Have you checked again from another lab? Reconfirm pls.
Talk to a doctor, preferably at a govt hospital. Many are living their normal lives with it. Just ensure you speak with a qualified doctor.

Take it easy bro. Its not a death sentence. I learnt the drugs are free. Moreover those on bp drugs also take it daily. Suicide is not an option. I learnt research on the cure is at advanced stage. I have a frnd who was diagnosed with Hiv+ way back 2017 he became serious with God to cut the long story short God healed him and cured him of Hiv it was big a testimony in 2019 now he his doing fine with his life.
