To the best of my knowledge. I haven't heard of rvs hiv test before.. Does rvs mean Random virus sampling?

But even before you're given hiv antiretroviral drugs, you must do a confirmatory hiv antigen p24 blood test. And this blood will be taken directly from a vein. Not like the one taken when your thumb is punctured.

Please go for a confirmatory test first...

RVS means Retro-viral Screening.

So as your health and drug compliance Improves, they will shift you to dosage that covers for 2months or even 3months..

Drugs are called ARV antiretroviral drugs.
They are produced by different drug companies. Some arv you take just one tablet daily,

while some you take 2times daily.


Depending on your hiv clinic, tell the counsellor that because of your daily activities you prefer the ARV that can be taken once daily.. It helps with compliance..

Always check your viral load and CD4 count at intervals.

If you are steady with your drugs, it will suppress the viral load that the virus will not be found in your body secretions, with that you can even have unprotected intercourse without transmitting the infection.

You can have a partner for closure.
Do well to protect him or her by avoiding penetrative intercourse, at least u can engage in other forms of sex.

If not, you may as well choose to engage a healthy partner with same status and on drugs, if you so desire a penetrative intercourse. Nevertheless, always have your condoms handy. HIV is no longer death sentence like it used to be decades ago. It is now manageable. Just register at the appropriate places and get free drugs to manage the situation, you will live a normal life.

If you don't mind, can you share how you think you got it? Your lifestyle that contributed to the situation? I believe you now have a duty to educate others using your experience. A lot of people still don't believe these things are real and hearing real life experiences from people like you will go a long way to educate their minds.

1. How come researchers don't have a permanent solution to the HIV yet?

2. I read an extensive study by Dr. Anthony Fauci (I believe you know him) and the American doctor explained how it has been nearly impossible to completely eliminate the HIV cells from human body. What has other medical scientists done since Dr. Fauci concluded this research?

3. Why does the world have to wait for the US for everything? Does it mean they have special brains in the United States? How come any disease Americans cannot treat remains impossible to treat?

4. What are our scientists doing in this part of the world? Do people just go to school and acquire knowledge to treat malaria and typhoid? Why can't one of our professors of med. science pioneer a discovery that will permanently kick HIV and AIDS out of our lives?

1. The high rate of mutations in viruses is a big challenge towards eradicating them. Only very very few diseases caused by virus have a permanent cure because of this problem. Your best bet is a vaccine.

2. Other scientists, research institutes and big pharms elsewhere, where the facilities and funds exist, are still working on finding something, especially in the area of vaccines which are more feasible than outright cures

3. That's where the money and facilities are. Are most of the research funds you get in Nigeria not coming from the US . It's not just about the brain.

4. Remember researches are done in research institutes funded by the government, NGOs, etc, or in pharmaceutical labs funded by big pharmaceutical companies, etc.
There's no investments in research in Nigeria and the majority of African countries, and the other low income countries.

What's HIV compared to cancer where the person will suffer and the family will sell property and at the end the person will still die.
There are people who don't have HIV but are so sick they wish death could just take them. In fact, Nigeria economic situation can even HIV in some people.
There are alot of people who have HIV but are living better than those who don't have. There are other people who don't have HIV but still take routine drugs. As it stands now, if you keep HIV and Tinibu for president and ask me to chose, i will gladly chose HIV.

my neighbour was a carier (HIV+) for some years but stopped seeing his health personnel at some point. He also put a stop to his drugs and was busy sleeping around with young girls without protection. Sadly, he died as a result of his nonchalant attitudes towards his health. I guess he got tired of the lifestyle he found himself as a result of the hailment (HIV+)

Moral of this, please do not joke with your medication. You'd live a normal life just like every other person provided you comply with wherever you are being told. Most importantly, your medication and mental health.. Look for a government health centre far from you

Also, be careful of whom to disclose your status to. Nigerians as a developing nation go as far as stigmatizing those batting with childlessness for years, they stigmatized single ladies old enough for marriage and many more
