I had a similar experience not too long ago … normally i would not post this with this handle but i want to stand with you and to show you that you are not alone. I’m HIV- tho but i had a one-off thing with a positive lady. Normally i carry out HIV test on any lady i intend to go down with. I did the test on that faithful day and it shows negative … I dived in without any safety gears. Drop the babe off after rumble came back to room to arrange then i saw the result was positive. I felt like I should just die right there right there. But God help me. I was calm called the lady the next morning told her I’m taking her somewhere … she thought it was time for another knacking experience. I calmly told her and showed her the result again, run another test for her which show she was positive, mine was still negative. I had google HIV centers around me and had enough knowledge about the procedures. I got registered for Post exposure treatment. In 30 days my result was still negative. The drugs is not a life sentence my brother. Just take it seriously. Assume this is life giving you another chance. There are no side effects of the drugs. It’s just a pill each day. Anti-retroviral drugs are free in government hospitals but the last time I checked, test like CD4 Count and other related tests which I can’t remember now comes at a premium except things have changed for the better in recent times.

OP would be directed to carry out a couple of tests that may require money. He should first go and register, it is the beginning of a process. He would be alright last last if he doesn’t take his status to heart and brood over it. It’s no death sentence like many have said earlier.

Over the years, I have seen many healthy and successful HIV positive people living their lives to the fullest than a fisherman has seen shrimps!

By God's grace I had managed some HIV patients in the past. One female n one male. D disease is manageable. All I can say is this: get close to God. Stop some vices like, alcohols in take, eating processed food, lack of rest, anxiety and sleepless night due to over thinking, smoking and womanizing. Then do a confirmatory test if still positive, register in a govt hospital or military hospital. Inform your spouse with caution n demand he/she do the test. If negative very good n stop sexual activities with him or her forthwith. Then, ask d doctors at your HIV clinic if it's time for you to start Anti retroviral drugs intake cos that will depend on your CD4 count. If yes then start if no, wait till it attacks your immune system n all. You will be fine cos one you will value your life more, you will get closer to God, you will become empathetic to people who are sick, you will be serious with your life goals, you will be healthy again but you must stick to your drugs, balanced diets, enough rest n sleep n less sexual activities. The guy is still as alive but d lady passed on some years ago cos she hated life n stopped her medication n ended it. Till today d guy is fine with a kid now. You will be fine my brother believe me but pls don't hide it from your wife or hubby n don't infect people ok.

Don't tell anybody yet,but keep everyone around you safe from yourself. I heard about a girl who informed her mother immediately she discovered her HIV status .The woman collapsed there and died. Let me tell you quite frankly, NOBODY, NO ONE will understand. People would start to avoid body contact with you. Imagine yourself sitting down in your brother's place and their running up to you to greet you, and the mother shouting, ' Junior, what are you doing there , go and carry your food , ha ! , your assignment ' etc, just to prevent the child from touching you. They will do it, and worse. And sometimes, it would be impossible for them to hide it. You need to see a doctor/doctors who will become your confidants and counsellors. The best hospital so far , and to my knowledge, are Federal Medical Centres and the one I will gleefully recommend is Federal Medical Centre, Idi-Aba ,Abeokuta. They a separate and a very efficient section that expertly handles HIV patients. Their drugs are cheap and available, heavily subsidised by USAID and NACA. You can do your research to know if other FMCs are like that. But if you visit Abeokuta's FMC , even with your status, you will see a reason to live, thank
GOD and enjoy your life. But know this, when you get there, the doctors and the attendants will put pressure on you to and your girl/boy friends, your fiancées, your wife and all that, to do tests to ascertain their status.
