Its ridiculous to say, but its cheap considering the amount it was sold a few weeks ago. Where did you get it?

About 10 hours, I poured out the oil and put in Mobil oil, now it won’t start..

Pour out the excess oil, then remove spark plug, clean it and put it back, you should be fine.

Uwc. Which brand of oil did you use initially?

I've been using my gen for almost two years now. Recently it will trip off by itself after working for like thirty minutes.
I've never repaired anything since I bought it. I make sure I change the oil regularly and always avoid overload.

I'm afraid if any mechanic touches it, that could be the beginning of a routine visit to his workshop.

Our 16KVA Perkins generator keeps busting its crankshaft. The only load it is carrying is three 1.5hp ACs, energy saving bulbs, two small fridges and one water dispenser. It is getting so annoying. This is the third time it has bust its crankshaft in about 7months

Greetings my ogas in the house, for the first time in over a year plus my sumec fireman Fpg 4800E2 generator suddenly switch off and on (voltage short circuit)? I was noticing this clicking/ tickling sound like something moving/shaking. Could it be the valves
because it took it for small servicing (first time ever) and the some guy opened the valve cover for cleaning/setting or what not
What could be the problem, it's running now and i can still hear the clicking sound

It is not advisable unless the Ac is the inverter type.

I think you should still observe it. The power cut off may not from the generator. Check if the wire to the AC plug is still well connected.

Yes I've checked was connected properly, switched it off and checked the oil level this guy literally over guage the oil like say i dey work for oil mill.

You are 100% correct. I saw oil on the tyre I placed the Gen but thought it was from the spillage while changing oil previously. I didn't know my Gen now leaks oil. I did a top up and no more tripping off. Thank God it didn't knock engine

Reconnect your oil alert wire to prevent future knocking of engine due to oil shortage. also change the oil seal in the generator. that would require a professional so as to stop oil leakage otherwise you'd keep spending a fortune on buying oil

Thanks for your input bro. My fear now is calling a mechanic to work on Gen. I Just feel they are not good enough. From doing one thing, other things will start springing up or same issue coming back. I would top up regularly until I have the courage to call a mechanic.
