BMC shameless anuofia .only 1 stinger will turn these 2nd generational cofins into debris.

Why did your beloved, thieving PDP not acquire your stinger? Try and appreciate good steps taken by the government. Don't die of frustration.

Unit cost , 20 million USD = $ 480m , + extra $120m for logistics , facilities , hangar, training and runways, shouldn't be more than $600m,

Are we buying nuclear powered submarine or fighter jet carrier warships

This is unprecedented in the history of Nigeria.

Buhari has done well with equipping our military. We cannot be called giant of Africa without military arsenals.

Now this is more like it.

Past leaders virtually did nothing for our military unlike Buhari has done
theres a world war around the corner, dont get your pipe dream hopes high for the clueless dumbo.

I will presume u want to be sarcastic with the term 3rd generation aircraft. M345 isn’t 3rd gen aircraft. The likes of MIG 21, MiG 19 are 3rd gen. M345 is a ideal aircraft the Nigerian Air Force needs at the moment. CAS, Reccie, precession ground attack, Ariel support. Etc

FYI. F35 does not have any kill or seen any real battle with USAF or other operators

$1.2 billion... Haba Kilode

Unit cost per one is $20,000,000 x 24 = $480,000,000

Training + Logistics + lobbying + building of Facilities, new airstrips and Hangars = $ highest $120,000,000

Total = $ 600,000,000

.

What of replaceble parts ,technical support and ordinances ?? The bombs and other munitions expected to arm the plane for use could also be part of the cost.

Such contracts often comes with trainings, contracts for replaceable parts, munitions, build specs and technical support. It may not be as straight forward as people see it on Wikipedia.Especially where you have to keep them operational over a period.

Perhaps an official break down could throw more light. Even thought I doubt security matters of such a made available to the public globally.

As per naija certainly something may have miss some where one is not going to know .

And you believe the actual unit cost is US$20,000 because Wikipedia said so?? My guy, thats not how things work in the west oo. Brand new stuff ain't often sold as per displayed or "advertised" price. Often what they show is the "Skeletal" price. By the time dem open book, show you hidden fees, tax, plus other extra costs to make it a " full package", your eye go open. If you don ever buy brand new moto or house for obodo oyinbo b4, you go know wetin I dey talk about.

In Naija, where display price is often higher than actual price, In abroad its the order way round. If u carry naija mindset go do shopping for abroad, you'll be disappointed ooo.

It’s clear you lack knowledge about military aircraft. Have you seen USAF A10 or the Russian SU25 ?? They look so ordinary but more deadly than F35 and it’s clicks of fine boys machine. They are the ultimate ground attack aircraft and killing machines. They are also cheap to operate compared to your ideal fighter jets.

Modified

It’s has dual cockpit because the can perform reccie missions too. Someone needs to operate the pods while another flies the jet. They can be deployed as advance trainers too. Don’t get me wrong.

Ogbeni shutttt up and shift.

Nigeria is building and there are various aircraft equipped for very specific roles.

We cannot acquire aircraft just for the fun of it when our major priority now is the fight against insurgency.

Read the OP again. It is meant to take over the fight against insurgency since it's more modern and better equipped for that.

We should get the F-35 because we are joining Ukraine to fight back against Russia abi?

Stop typing if na to build fantastic castles in the air you sabi do without assessing your immediate values and needs

The $2.3 Billions Jona and his PDP looting gang looted and shared was enough to buy 50 of these advanced light attack fighters.
Funny enough, the money they looted was for our military.

And the clowns still want to bore us with insecurity talk.

PDP can rot in hell..

You missed a vital component of the purchase price and that is SPARE PARTS.

When purchasing military assets of this nature, the cost of spare parts and maintenance is also factored in upfront.

Cost of spares over the service life of an aircraft can even exceed the initial unit outlay of each.

Although for this one, egunje must have been factored in sha grin

This is where President Muhammadu Buhari go and waste the borrowed loan money gotten from China.

That money is supposed to be used to develop all parts of Nigeria especially the Niger Delta region whose crude oil is being targeted for loan repayment.
