Nigeria can frustrate person sha. You go to a petrol station, you fill your tank up. Along the road your car stops. You find out the petrol has some water in it. You go to petrol station, it turns out the petrol they supplied them is not a good one. Supplier said the petroleum product imported into the country is not good. No one takes it up. The same president that has lots of duties as the president is the minister of petroleum. No explanation for why this happened or how poor masses can get solution for their present predicament. Everyone acts like it’s not worth addressing.

You fix your car and generator yourself. No one to hold responsible. Then tomorrow you ask why the youth of the country are running to other countries to work instead of building their country.

This matter, no be small thing. I could recall a few weeks ago before leaving, I filled up my tank and usually, I used 6k to fill up but before I look the petrol attendance has done magomago and my bill became 8k . We cheat one another in Nigeria and it's so sad what we have become as a country. Nigeria is a blessed Nation with wicked people everywhere!. It is well jare. Let me face my New place now.
My husband's car has a red faulty indicator because of this bad fuel .

It is well

Please, I read somewhere on page 1 that someone said his advice for tier2 holders is to buy the house on the the first day if possible. My question now is how long someone can stay in the uk before purchasing a home, for example, if the person has at least 15-20% fund of the mortgage at hand. Thank you

You should start applying now if you are looking for grad roles. Most of the companies offering grad roles usually recruit for starting about a year after. My advice is to apply for as many jobs as possible. Do not get discouraged if you get a rejection, learn from it and move on. Check gradcrackers for roles. Also, spread your search. Go for both big organisations and small organisations. Be relentless and make applying for jobs as important as your course work and you will surely get a job. Also, work on your CVs, learn how to write cover letters, have several examples for competency questions, learn how to do telephone and video interview, research about assessment centres and pray for favour.

Regarding schools, you might need to keep calling the council to ensure they are considering your application for a school place. You will need to go to shops to purchase school uniform. You can usually get the shirt and trousers from shops like Asda, Aldi, M&S, Sainsbury. You might be able to get school jumpers from the shops as well or go to shops that mainly sell school uniforms

Can't really advise your hubby as I am into Engineering/IT. He should keep applying as well.

Thanks a lot for the pointers. I appreciaTe it

I have some questions to ask. I am presently in the UK and I want my mum to join me this August.
1. How many months visa can she be given? Do I need to state the number of months or years I'm applying for?
2. What documents do I need to upload when applying?
Will appreciate a response soonest. Thanks

Hello House, I finally land on this thread. Praise God and everyone who gave invaluable advise on the study visa thread. We arrived 2 weeks ago but I have been busy searching for accommodation etc and settling in. I have contacted the council about school and chosen 4 schools for my son. I did everything via email and phone call. Do I need to do anything else ? And will I be required to pay any fees for uniforms etc ? In addition do I need to visit the actual schools or just wait to hear back from the council ? Finally I am studying business analytics, so we are learning the basics of R and data visualization, I’m also learning python and SQL on my own so I can position to apply for data analyst roles in addition to business analyst roles. Can any one give advise on how to get graduate tier 2 sponsorship jobs in these (tech/business) fields. Also when should I start applying. In addition, hubby is has a BSc in accounting and Masters in Marketing. What are his possible job prospects for tier 2 sponsorship? Please any and every advise will be appreciated. Also we’d like introduction to the Nigerian community in Bournemouth. Thanks once again

I don’t know about Bournemouth but in Scotland where I am, there is a zoning system. You can’t just apply to any random school. You kids will be placed at the school closest to their home address.

The school will also have an official supplier of crested school uniform with the school’s badge. You can also purchase from the high street but this will just be plain uniforms with no logo.

I am looking for your quotes and advice on car purchases: cheesy Please I won't mind going back to read the pages

I wouldn’t advise you to get a car so soon after arrival. Driving here is a totally different ball game from Naija and it comes with a lot of costs. I would first familiarise myself with the roads and road signs before thinking about purchasing a vehicle.

Find what? Revolut, monzo? These are basically online banks, meaning they don't have branches across cities within the UK, though they may have a singular branch which in most would be located in London. E get why, they are not referred to as high streets banks..

Not living in Glasgow but I would say similar England sourcing applies. Check Facebook market place for items you want (always choose cash on delivery), British heart foundation or other similar charity stores if you don't mind fairly used items, neighbourhood app if lots of users exist in the region

You can start with Argos card (£800 limit with about £200 immediately available) if you've been in the UK for between 1- 2 years (ideally, 2), make purchases like 2ce/3ce and pay in full before your BNPL plan ends - 1st purchase will be delivered to your address as a form of verification. You can choose to buy using Normal Credit (pay before your next statement date to avoid interest - usually within a month) or Buy Now, Pay Later (3 months to pay before interests start accruing).

After this, you can apply for Amazon's Capital One Credit card - initial £800 limit with £500 available for immediate spend (you can make purchases with it - interest free before next statement date), transfer cash to your account or withdraw via ATM (higher charges).

Lols chai JJC life. I will start looking at banks and their deals.

Then this credit card which one will you advice JJC like me to start with?

Good evening, Ancients and Modern!
Does anyone know the average time to receive a response for UK visa renewal now? It's stated three weeks on their website but it's going to 4 weeks now and yet nothing yet.

Visiting visa durations are as follow;
1.6months, 2years, 5years, 10years. So yes, you must state what duration of the visiting visa you are applying for.
2. If you are not sponsoring any part of her visit you may not need to provide her with any documents. If you are sponsoring any parts of her visit you would provide to her documents as would be applicable.

But wait, you says join, join you as dependent, visit or what?

Hello guys,
It's barely 1month since my Visa came out. I had to cause a little traffic by sending multiple job application to uk indeed.
I use my wife's current address and phone number coz I am currently in Nigeria.(joining her soon)
I got some rejections, did 1or 2 interview
Finally got an offer at one of the companies as a fraud analyst.
9am - 5pm (remote after 3months training)
£10.6 pH.
Please big brothers n sisters with experience. Do I take this job or turn it down.
I am eyeing something around £12-14 undecided pH.

,

Too low. Aim higher.

From my calculations thats like 20k p/y

Alternatively, I recommend you take the job while you keep applying to other roles. Don’t put it in your linkedin or cv yet as recruiters will see you as a flight risk for wanting to jump ship. But keep applying to see if you can get something above 30k p/y. When you see something better you bounce.

Does anyone know about this?
