i actually got an insurance claim last year when i had a non fatal accident, its same process here in Nigeria as anywhere else, call to file claim or email them. I did everything via mail and they sent a staff to confirm, that was all i got a 140k pay out for the repair.

It's not frustrating, my dear use Anchor insurance I have benefited from them on third party wahala year before last.

Lucky you bro. Had to sell off a wrecked car to an auto parts dealer due to the difficult nature and processes employed by my insurer whome I personally did not know until the accident.

Ask yourself this very interesting question: How many folks had received insurance payouts from the First-Party Insurance, let's not even go to the distant Third-Party Insurance. Like you rightly said, most of us do these processes to avoid wahala from law enforcement. In the overall, making insurance claims in nigeria can generally be frustrating.

you are wrong

I don't know much about them..I can only recommend the ones that I'm absolutely sure of. There are likely others that are very good as well apart from the ones I mentioned.

i Have received for 1st party (comprehensive) before and that's the onlt time i've needed it and know others who have also been paid when they present their claims.

The question about 3rd party is the corruption involved... the insurance agents sometimes present your claims but pocket the settlement and keep telling you - we are still working on it

The Third Party insurance you can get from the local driving registration office is the most straightforward process of all. We don’t all pray to have an accident so we won’t know till it happens but anything premium I’m on my 5th company after taking money you never here from them again except cornerstone but because na WhatsApp communication I was scared too.

I use cash for registration virtual card for online purchases and on company 5 I just pray it’s not a shell company why? Because there should not just be 1 person in an insurance company and there should be adequate follow up

Tangerine offers premium with flexible payments but the process is manual and for me that means you may hear from them you may not well fingers crossed.

International companies State Farm, AAA, The General, and all these instant insurance companies UK, Netherlands, Russia, France. South Africa, Brazil this is your chance to enter the market and show fraudsters service before payment.

Third party is to avoid police harassment.
It should be police pass. Wrong value for money.

You can see how I concurred and alluded to various posters who gave constructive reasons and experiences with one or more insurance companies with Anchor being the most mentioned in exemplary payout. Don't come here and scream "you are wrong" and then think you made a comment, be opinionated like others before you. Mr. Right.

Third party insurance policy provides cover for the insured against his liabilities to third parties. In other words, it compensates third parties for property damage, injury or death arising from the use of the insured vehicle. It does not cover the insured for the loss or damage of his own vehicle or even death or injury to himself. Yes,insurance companies pay genuine third party claims that are brought to them. Those calling third party insurance policy, police let me pass, are holders of fake policies, probably obtained from vehicle licensing offices.

It depends on how much you value your car.

For instance if I value my car @ 2,000,000 I might be asked to pay 3% as premium.

Ohh that's affordable. Thanks for the information.

Third-party insurance is essentially a form of liability insurance. The first party is responsible for their damages or losses, regardless of the cause of those damages. One of the most common types is third-party insurance is automobile

Third-party offers coverage against claims of damages and losses incurred by a driver who is not the insured, the principal, and is therefore not covered under the insurance policy. The driver who caused damages is the third party.

According to the insurance policy, you get coverages up to ₦1,000,000.00 on your third party insurance.

But from my own little observations, I realized that most Nigerian only renew thier third party insurance because of police Road safety or VIO. Infact some of my colleagues in office call it police let me pass .

Some Believe that insurance doesn't pay on Third-party. How true is this? Have you ever be deny Claim on your third party insurance?

Yes it does if you buy a genuine insurance policy.

In 2016, I had an accident along Sagbama (Bayelsa) where I ran into 4 parked vehicles and 3rd party insurance paid for the damages. It was KBL

Only those on premium get paid?

We’ve been denied payment by a third party insurance before...... Our truck had an accident and we reached out to them.....Even after submitting documents and police report, they weren’t straight forward with us..... Then, we threatened them with social media...... That was when they started telling us to calm down and refused giving us our documents and police report back......... Long story short, the money was never paid......

What I understand from the whole brouhaha is that most third party insurance agents are rogues!!!

Buy third party insurance from insurance companies either directly or through brokers and contact them when a claim is to be made.
