You know this is a public forum and trends and risk assessment can be built from here. IRCC could have eyes here. These are conversations you take to the DM. I shouldn't say more you should have accentuated the message I'm trying to pass.

This question has been asked countless number of times and has also been answered..

None is better than the other.. Even though we have had more approvals with the Regular portal(I don't call it Old cos its still very much in use) than the new one...

The regular portal is restricted to 4MB of documents upload, while the new portal is restricted to 2mb..

The regular portal contains IRCC forms to be filled, the new portal doesn't contain any form , you will answer all questions straighUp..

So none is better than the other, just choose the one that you ae comfortable with..

Peace

Thank you

AFTER 2DAYS of posting this grin grin grin grin

LONGGGGGG POST ALERT!!!

Guys I really do not know where to start from!
I'm short of words. God's just too good to fail.
I'm still in shock cause I can't really fathom why my application was this quick or why I was just favoured, but I give God all the glory! For he alone is to be praised!

I've been following this thread for about 4yrs now. Just observing with no plans to submit my application. Was just here for the information basically, and to read people's process (which I enjoyed doing) didn't even know I'd eventually apply.

Time came for me to apply, I was scared to the Bone! I was scared to doing it myself! My sponsor (brother) literally begged me to look for an Agent to handle my application, I was skeptical at first, but I succumbed cause I didn't want any issue or stories that touch.

I contacted an agent on this platform, he charged me 150K for admission and 250K for Visa. My sponsor agreed to pay for the first stage (admission). Las las I eventually paid 190K for only admission!!! Only school admission ohhh!!!

Then it was time for Visa Application, and I was told Visa Fee has increased to 300K. And I was like hell No!!! I no go school? Am I daft? No! I can do this shi# myself. 300K no be 300 naira.

That's how it began, took a leap of faith and decided to do and handle my Visa Process myself, and God blessed me with the GOLDEN Mail (PPR)! Guys please do this stuff yourself!
You can do it! Yes YOU! You can!
There's nobody else that cares about your application than you! You don't need any agents NAIRALAND is the real deal! NAIRALAND taught me everything I know and used to get my Approval.

I'm a FIRST TIME APPLICANT, my timeline goes thus, I used the NEW PORTAL,

Upfront Medicals - 22nd November 2021
Application Submitted - 29th November 2021
Biometrics Completed - 3rd December 2021 (updated same day)
Upfront Medicals Updated - 6th December 2021
Then the wait........................^_^
Eligibility Review Started - 25th January 2022
Then a good man, a blessing, friend turned brother, a brother from another mother, Teemenzo (God bless you for me brother, he has always been with me from the beginning of my application) adviced me to send a mail to Abuja which I did, I eventually, reluctantly sent to everybody (London, Nairobi, Lagos, Abuja) yesterday, 26th of January just to disturb then. Hello greeners

Honestly, there is no specific timeline for this..

I have seen applicants getting a final decision days after Eligibility started..

And also months after Eligiibity started..

But most of the Final decisions that came days(2-3 days) after Eligibilty started has been refusals..

This is just based on my observation though, as the operation of IRCC can't be 100% known..

Let me expantiate his quote if you dont understand.

Makano said that
1) There is no specific timeline for eligibility review to PPR. This means that you can get a decision either approval or refusal early immdiately your review starts or very late. Better still you can get it same day the review started.

Buchito1 gor his ppr two days after review started. So no timeline

2) he has seen people get decisions just days after review started, ilppr can come anytime.

3) by his own observation (even though i have other opinions), many of those who gets decisions 2 to 3 days of review starting gets refusal.

So this doesn't mean everybody on eligibility review will get refusal.

A a ni damu.

Hello Teemenzo

Maybe I do not understand the bolded, but I never mentioned everybody on Eligibility will be refused, I would not have said that even when sleeping..

Maybe you didn't understand my post , or I don't understand the bolded.

For your application to be approved, your Eligibility must start..

But one can get a refusal even before Eligibility starts (Such applicant didn't pass the 1st stage of Background check)... Once your Eligibility starts, you can either be Approved or Refused..

Hello Joke

Why should you say you expecting a refusal though, be positive..

I just said most of the Final decision that came days after Eligibility started were refusals, and most final decision that came months after Eligibility end in Approvals, and I said this is just based on my Observation cos we have as well seen approval come days after Eligibility and Refusals months after Eligibility...

You should be thankful that at least your Eligibility has started though, many applications get refused even before getting to the Eligibiilty stage..

One your Eligibility starts, you can either be Approved or refused.. But yours will end in praise

Kankanio:
LANDING GIST

Our journey started on Saturday, January 22, 2022. We departed Port Harcourt International for Lagos. We arrived Lagos and did our Covid 19 tests the following day. The results were out same day at night. I printed all the documents I needed that night at the hotel where we lodged.

The following morning, January 24th we left the hotel and arrived at Lagos international airport at 10:00 AM. Upon entry into the terminal, we were directed to the Agricultural Quarantine Service where we declared the agricultural product in our possession. We were made to pay 2k for each of the bags containing food items. A certificate was issued.

We joined the queue for check-in, the queue was quite lengthy. I was given a yellow card for currency declaration. I got to where our bags were weighed. I had to pay N242,424 for 2 extra luggage. Those guys are not smiling. I got to know it would have been cheaper to cargo the two bags after I had paid. E pain me sha. Please try not to exceed your baggage allowance because those guys are just using this means to milk people of their hard earned money. If possible, carry things that are really essential. You will always find substitutes here.

We got to a desk where our documents were checked. They requested for the following documents - passport, ArriveCan, PCR test, Enrolment letter, copy of bio data page of passport and we were cleared. Endeavour to have at least 2 copies each of the above documents because they took one set at that desk and I was left with one set.

We proceeded to get our boarding passes. Our bags were tagged, we were cleared and given boarding passes. From there we proceeded to customs and cleared. At immigrations, our passports were stamped, the currency declaration forms were taken from us and we were cleared.

We crossed control and headed to the boarding gate. Joined the queue and our passports along our boarding passes were checked. Our carry-on luggages were checked and we went ahead to board. If you don’t have time to wait to be checked, you can “find them something” and they will let you go. Naija style

Flight took off at about 14:25 PM and arrived Addis Ababa at 18:54 PM.

We transited to our boarding gate because the connecting time was so short. Our passports were checked. We were asked for ArriveCan and PCR test which we presented and we were cleared for boarding.

We took off from Addis Ababa at 11:25 PM made a stop at Dublin and proceeded to Toronto. At the border we used the self service and printed the declaration form. Then joined a queue to where and officer asked me series of questions; What are you here for? Who do you have in Canada, What were your purpose of previous visits to Canada? Is this the first time you’re visiting Canada for Study? Where is your School? What’s your course of study? Where will you be staying? and other questions which I gave the responses. From there she directed us to where we were given our Study permits. They asked for the correspondence letter only which we were asked to come with.

Thereafter, we proceeded to claim our bags and went for Covid-19 test since we were picked for random testing. I had already registered with Switch health so it was easier. We were given test kits for my daughters who are not vaccinated. We checked in our bags to Vancouver flight.

From there we proceeded to border control where we were cleared and proceeded to our boarding gate for onward journey to Vancouver. The check at Toronto no be play o. Our carry on bags were checked over and over again. I was almost stripped naked. Na wetin dem dey find sef? God pass dem sha. I patiently waited for them to carry out their checks since I had ample time before my next flight. They sha apologised for wasting our time.

We arrived in Vancouver at 5:02PM January 26, 2022, disembarked and went to claim our bags. The Uber app on my phone came in handy. I connected to the internet at the airport and got a taxi that took us to our destination.

We arrived safely to the glory of God. I have forgotten about all the stress I went through to be here. I can’t even remember any. I return all the glory to God.

You see Ethiopian Airlines? If you can, please avoid them. Dem carry me tour round the world, Haba!

To everyone waiting, Godspeed. Your joy shall be full.

Note : my gcsmnotes I ordered stated insufficient proof of third party sponsorship . I came to nairaland to ask for what I should do . I was asked to act fast on it because it is very close to a refusal but God doesn’t fail. Nairaland gurus told me to fire back using email and webform this thing actually works most important the general webform which make you know that they have received your enquiry.
*Letter of explanation explaining the relationship between I and my sponsor why he would what to sponsor me .
*I stated that his children are grownups and successfully established in their careers so he doesn’t have major financial responsibility towards them
*birth certificate of my grand uncle and my grandma,
*family tree,
*old pictures of my grand uncle and grand ma ,
*recent pictures of my grand uncle and I on my Graduation day
*Receipt of my full year tuition fees,
*stating that GIC account will be created for me once my visa is approved
Also, all glory and honour to God that made this possible because this application is far from perfect . “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:5‬ ‭NIV‬.
With prayer and fasting the application was approved. Also , trust God while waiting because I was so discouraged when I come to nairaland and I see most application with uncle sponsorship are not approved even those with same surnames talk less of me that it is grand uncle with different surname from mine.
I told God that I want my application to be different with this grand uncle sponsorship. I want to give a testimony of grand uncle sponsorship because what’s impossible with man is possible with God.
Also, while waiting try to distract yourself from thinking of it because it really affects one’s mental especially. The waiting period is not easy but it will be easier if you have faith in God . I joined NLP by pastor b which made me closer to God and speak to God about my application.
In the mighty the name of God , those that are planning to submit their application and people waiting for a decision to be made on their application they will get a positive decision very soon in Jesus name because mark 11:24 “That what ever you ask in prayers believe you have receive it and it is yours”Also ,remember “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29:11‬ ‭.
Thank you so much nairalanders always answering my questions especially @ makano , @scott9ish , @anon123 , @liana2020 @justmellow ( who said he his looking forward to my testimony here is it ) and others that I forgot to mention .I really appreciate. I hope this helps someone.

Can one really relocate to Canada within 6 to 9 months?

About 2 days ago, I came across a guide online that promises valuable information about relocating to Canada within 6-9 months.

genuinely and legally, no matter your age and without the hassle of the IELTS.

It sounded true but one has to be careful these days. Out of curiousity.

I decided to get the guide and check out the information…. especially since there was a money back guarantee if I wasn’t satisfied. https:///rokbig

Hi Tolu,

1, I am married with 2 young kids but I applied alone. How soon after I land can I apply for my kids? - What plans do you have for the kids when you travel? You have to state that in your SOP, since their dad is not in the country you need to get strong reason for leaving them in Nigeria while you travel- Best bet is to get your SP and thereafter apply for visiting visas for them.

2, What visa type should I apply for? Visitors visa or open study permit? Kids are currently 5 and 7 years old.
- You are to apply for Study permit, since the kids aren't travelling now, no need to add them to your application( But later on you can apply for visiting visas for them)

3, How easy or fast is it to convert the kids visitors visa to study permit in Canada? - With visiting visas kids are allowed to study.

4, Husband doesn’t work in Nigeria. - Get your study permit first, then let your hubby apply for visiting visa that will allow him come and go for the duration of the visa.

Thanks for your response.

1, my mother and a trusted nanny would be on ground to take care of them while I and hubby are away.

All other suggestions are duly noted.

I was 100% truthful in my application, I also added my police reports for both when I was schooling in England and the United States as well which they said was passed. I am assuming the reason is because of Change of name on my documents perhaps. I have always applied for all my Visa's myself without using any third party because I don't want people putting a wrong information. I am believing for a positive response.

Thank You

They are still undecided about your application, however, the review required might be connected to your travel history. Sometimes when you have extensive travel history and they are still not sold on your study visa application but your travel history weigh in heavily in favour of your application, they will seek more details in respect of your previous travels.

Wait for your gcms note, most likely "info sharing is still in progress".

However, if there is no adverse finding in your previous travels, your study permit will be approved

Please, dont fall for it. We have information like that very common across social media even on linkedln promising jobs , easy immigration to Canada and all those stories. There are lots of scammers also in the western world.

IRCC website is your best source to get reliable information on immigration.

Protocol breaking God.
It ended in praise
After 9months of submitting my application

It will be so bad and ungrateful if don’t come back here to give my timeline to help others , the way other people helped me too.

Landed properties
passport bio data
Survey of his landed properties
Memorandum and article of association of company

Letter of volunteer at an hospital
Letter of sponsorship
Letter of consent from my parents
Letter of acceptance
Pictures with my sponsor
Picture with my sponsor and parent
Awards from school including that I was the head girl

For the first one I used gscmsonline but it took about 4months instead of 30-45 days, the second I ordered from anon123 but I haven’t received it yet because it’s not yet due
