Every list of your govt functions ie power, water, roads etc isn't working on the other end ..... the only sectors that are working in nigeria today are private controlled. Telecoms, internet, transportation, banking, real estate. To think there are still people advocating for socialism in nigeria shows how dumb a lot of you can be.

Africa needs to berestructured. .
Africa current nations should all split and new nations should be formed strictly base on ethnic homogeneity. .
The artificial heterogeneous countries in africa will never develop untill the above is done...

Tribal boundaries have been one of the primary reasons why Africa has defied all efforts to develope.

Africa never had a conqueror who collapsed tribes into one strong state.

As the English did for the Norman's and Saxons. As Ghenghis Khan did, as Alexander the great did..

We just have to forge ourselves into one United people and toss out tribes that are dying anyway.

He meant housing for every single citizen... The entire 200 million of the lot.

there are simply too many poor people in Nigeria for us to practice 100 percent capitalism. There's a massive housing deficit in the country as well as food shortage.
we need to focus on socialism and provide mass free housing and food sustainability,then we can have 30 percent capitalism. 80 percent of Nigerians are very poor, 15 percent are comfortable, only 5 percent of Nigerians are wealthy mostly politicians and other CEO or diasporan returnees etc. . Nigerians are simply poor .

out of 200 million population, only 8,000 Nigerians use iphone . most Nigerians use cheap Chinese phone. we can not afford fake lifestyle trying to copying america and other developed countries, we need to get down to reality. Nigerians needs the basics first such as affordable housing ,food , Healthcare, education. if these three are provided, then we would have security. many Nigerians are homeless today,many are squatting with family members. rent is skyrocketing everyday. If most people have affordable housing and food , crime would reduce to barest minimum in Nigeria cos most crimes in Nigeria are about food ,kidnapping, stealing of money to pay rent or buy food. deep down inside Nigerians are good people , na condition make crayfish bend.

Jakande estates and the federal housing units in festac are testament to the nobility of the idea. They were affordable accommodation that pioneered emergence of middle class neighbourhood in Nigeria. I'm a proud product of such neighbourhood in ogun state.

The other guy talking about run-down council flats in London and Chicago don't know what he's talking about. Those flats were livesaver to millions of commoners who would have been without a home.
Now that everything has been taken over by loan sharks masquerading as mortgage companies, how are those countries faring with homeless and destitutes roaming their streets for to lack of cheap houses. Travel to east Los Angeles where homelessness is rampant and u will weep for America.

U can't be talking about urbanisation without decent modern houses. Or is it not here on nairaland where towns in southwest are mocked for their dilapidated houses- so call brown roof. If the southwest gov demolish those derelicts and build modern affordable houses, will it not be pleasing to the eyes?
