There is nothing the Nigerian embassy could do in this case. Except they expect the Nigerian government to tell Russia, "please don't bomb this place"

Nigerians living in Ukraine cried out through social media after Russia attacked Ukrainian cities early on Thursday morning.
They claimed the Nigerian embassy in Ukraine had earlier given them assurances to be calm that nothing was going to happen.

On the contrary, they started hearing explosions and gunshots today and they no longer feel safe.

They were able to make it to the train station but they are now stranded as many people are attempting to leave the city at once.

News of war has been circulating for weeks now, the mumus no make plan, as usual with majority of Nigerians na to wait until the last minute to start shouting like goats. Keep waiting on Buhari you hear, keep waiting angry

You wouldn't understand. It's a pity many of you are reasoning this way, put yourselves in their shoes. Majority of those trapped over there are students many of whom live from hands to mouth. Ukraine is a very poor eastern European country, it's not easy to be studying there. It is not so easy for the natives not to talk about the foreigners. Those in the eastern part of the country will feel the heat most. May God come to the rescue of my countrymen and women.

Unfortunately they are on their own, knowing our country and the complete incompetence of embassy officials.

The black man makes excuses for his own failures while the white man learns from it. Someone in foreign land should always be vigilant, if you don't have the resources to study abroad why embark on such a journey? Russia invading Ukraine is not a shocker, it was expected for several weeks now.

Let me ask you a simple question, if a powerful foreign country threatened to invade Nigeria and you had at least 2-3 weeks notice, would you stay in 9ja or would you jaapa to a neighboring country knowing fully well Nigeria's government cannot protect you?

Warnings of Russia invading Ukraine has been going on for several weeks.. u guys had lots of time to leave that country, at least for the time being..

many countries advised their citizens to leave Ukraine and most of these warnings were adhered to...

But trust Nigerians and dying minute rush...same 11th hour mentality we use during, Sim registration, bvn registration, even NIN registration...

My advice to u guys is to join the Ukrainian army
