Nicole Payne only need that game time to prove herself... She's a Superb Right Back, and can slot in as left back too, I will pick her ahead of Glory Ogbonna anyday anytime...

If it's only 6 defenders then i will go with...
1. Onome Ebi
2. Osinachi Ohale
3. Ashleigh Plumptre
4. Michelle Alozie
5. Patricia George
6. Nicole Payne

Wow she can play. Then for me it is:

Patricia, Ebi, Ohale, Nicole.

Plumptre can come from the bench. We saw that some of the skillfull forwards of the Ivoriens could get past her sometimes.

If no injury and they're all fit, My 7 defenders for the AWCON would definitely be
1. Onome Ebi
2. Osinachi Ohale
3. Ashleigh Plumptre
4. Michelle Alozie
5. Oluwatosin Demehin or Onyinyechi Zogg or Akudo Esther Ogbonna
6. Patricia George
7. Nicole Payne
Glory Ogbonna is the best fullback in the team. Its not even close. Yes she makes her rash decisions but she is still the best for me.

Plumtre must start either as a left back or center back

Why must she start? Nothing is fixed at the moment. If Nicole over some friendly games prove to be a better left back, then Plumptre would only compete with the experienced Ebi for the center back position.
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Schemerkhiz: 10:38am On Feb 26, 2022
Going with pace Glory Ogbonna is far behind the 3 of them she can't match them (Alozie, George, Nicole)...

Her reaction towards the ball is poor, overlapping runs she's average, Her pull out is Zero....

So Glory Ogbonna for me is a Nooooooo

The defence is okay like this, especially against tough oppositions. Alozie would be a better right wing forward than a right back.
.. Yeah, i believe so.

Honestly it's almost like u guys don't want to see her qualities, that's all. Seems like u are looking for none footballing qualities. This is a player that takes most our set pieces when she is in the game, she has a sweet left foot that will get us plenty goals in the future and the only issue that a person being truthful will point out has been being too rash at times. That can and will be worked on. If she was as basic as u guys try to make it she would be playing for Ibom Angels in the second division. But here she is in her second big footballing nation in a row. She has to be doing something you can't see.

You are not being truthful. If u have time take a look at the make up speed on the 2 penalties she conceded. Plus I can tell it is something against Glory cos u are just throwing out names anyhow. Michelle that we are saying shouldn't play right back is who u are mentioning for left backhuh U guys should just support the team and stop picking favourites.

It is not really about African opposition. It is more about skilled opposition. Dribblers have always had their way with Michelle even in our game against Portugal that number 10 was a nightmare for her.

She's just too prone to costly errors, let's give another that same chance to prove herself!.

Which setpieces?? Her deliverings are below average, Excluding Michelle Alozie who isn't playing her rightful position for the Superfalcons, Glory Ogbonna is average and way below them in the pecking order.

How many times have you seen her overlapping runs with excellent delivery at the end??

As if Jessica Silva didn't do the same to Glory Ogbonna..

I will continue to say it She's no where in the Class of Patricia George, Michelle Alozie.. even Nicole Payne have better qualities than her.!

There on YouTube you would easy see West Virginia Mountaineers games, watch them and see how talented Nicole Payne is...

Oga unlike some I don't pick and choose players. My comment was about Michelle and nobody else. Stop trying to push false narratives. If Glory is so poor why did the coach select her over all the players u want to hand her position to?

All of them are talented but none have proven to offer more than Glory.

But to be honest, since 2018/2019, Glory hasn't really been that impressive. Also take a look at our away game in Accra where we lost 1-0 as well as the summer series. Maybe this coach hasn't brought out the best from her, but I'll say that we try other players in that position to compare.
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 5:05pm On Feb 26, 2022
I observed the exact same things you mentioned after watching Ogbonna live at the Summer Series last year. She simply isn't it.
Her decision making on and off the ball is really poor. But some other person here accused me of 'hating' her.

You cannot squeeze blood out of a rock. The sad truth is she doesn't have what it takes. Simple.
Time to focus on others who have greater prospects.

Not impressed with Monday Gift at all. She was very poor in the CAF Champions League. I will pick Vivian, who is faster and more versatile.
In lieu of Rinsola's switch coming through before the WAFCON, I will very reluctantly pick Oparanozie because of her experience, even though she hasn't done anything of note lately and has been really poor in her recent outings for the SF. Roosa hasn't really established herself for Real Betis Feminino, so...

Is Rinsola's switch certain now?

Really do not know what's going on with Roosa she most times doesn't even make the team list for Real Betis.

Are you really looking at footballing qualities? Seems you're the one not dialed in into what most are seeing about her.
Set pieces? Oparanozie, Rash and even Payne are better critical set piece takers.
Context: Currently in the second division in Spain.

I wonder the set piece qualities he's taking about, How do you rate Glory Ogbonna as a quality Left Back??

She's not in same class with the likes of Michelle Alozie who's not even originally a full back, she's no where close to Nicole Payne who's still playing college soccer talkless of Patricia George..

The rest can actually give us what the likes of Lucy Bronze and Crystal Dunn do for their teams but Glory Ogbonna can't except she improve more and more...

A modern day fullback need to be one of the quickest player on the pitch it requires a lot of up and down running and Gloryis below average..

If Alozie keeps playing the right back for the Superfalcons and her Clubside probably convert her to a fullback too, I bet you she will be more better because her lapses is on the defensive side of it but going forward she has it....

George and N Payne has been playing as full back and winger for their team which gives them more edge...

Then why was Glory taking most of the set pieces when they were on the pitchhuh U do know that direct Freekicks are not the only type of set pieces they are right?

I am now convinced you don't know a lick about football.
Stick to what you do best - making videos and leave the discussions about football strategy and tactics to those in the know.
