Hello everyone. I plan to make a family UK visa application and I need a few clarification to set me I the right direction. We are a family of 5 and passport of 3 out of the 5 expire 09/22 while the remaining two expire sometime in 2024. The purpose of travel is for a commitment early August 2021 to leave mid August 2022 (08/22). We have never visited the UK. My question is with sufficient proof of return, would the visa application be affected due to the travel date been very close to date of passport expiry? Secondly due to delays in Nigerian passport processing and the closeness of travel date to the passport expiry date, how do you advise I approach the issue to passport renewal? Thanks for your responses. |

AmeliaT:Thanks a lot for responding. I have heard what you said, just that my case is somehow complicated with this bank statement thing. I am kind of scared with it coz all the refusals I have been seeing here are mostly based on it. And if one does not get it right, then it will be a total waste of time and money. I need to be open on this. The two accts I have are savings. The second one i don't have much on it. But I run it all the time with a lot of deposits and withdrawal. Betting activities and other transactions. I would not want to use that for the visa stuff so I opt to use the other acct that doesn't have much activity on it but with a zero naira balance. My plan is to start using it to save that amount(#385,000) for 7 or 8 months then I will print 6months statement and use for the application. That was why I asked earlier if I can lodge in some money then the following month I will start saving the #385k salary. For the marriage question, I am still single. So no marriage certificate. Does this limit my chances? What role does cover letter really play? Thank you 1 Like |

Ask your husband what he earns , there’s no point in wasting your money on another application if he doesn’t meet the financial requirements, as they will still refuse it. |

kizonero:if you feel your chances are shaky at the moment or complicated as you termed it, why then must you apply now? There’s no point going back and forth on the thread on the same circumstance. Nobody is an eco here to be honest with you, you have been given advice based on what ppl feel, the onus is is left on you to convince yourself first before convincing a visa officer. If you feel convinced, go for it.. if not, then wait more. There is no hard and fast rule. You can do a lump sum and then continue the normal way with saving accordingly the ffg months, then not printing off the month with the lump sum or not do it at all.. there’s no way to tell if the visa will be granted. Your overall circumstance will be looked at, what will make this person come back. |

blackpant:purpose of travel is for commitment August 2021? 2021 is past. You can apply for visa 3 months to when you plan on entering the UK. If you qualify, you will be given. On the side passprts expiring in September 2022 can be renewed from March 2022. The passport renewal process can be going on on the side |

Hello fellow Nairalanders. Pls I need answers to the following questions 1). I plan to join my spouse who is holding UK health and care worker visa later in May this year. Can I submit my visa application now or it's too early?. If it's too early when can I submit. 2). I need clear explanation on the £285 maintenance fund I need to have in my account for 28 days before applying. Can someone use an example to explain the following as copied from the Gov.UK website: You will need to have had the money available for at least 28 days in a row. Day 28 must be within 31 days of you or them applying for this visa. Thanks |

Get there as early as possible. These days, you might need to write your name down on a paper. I was there last week Monday and as of 9:30am, my number on the list was 243. Rerin: |

deuoessch: You stated that the relative wants to make a new application. Thus, i meant if the relative can't recall past travel history after all efforts to do so, whilst filling visa application, where you have; have you ever been granted, denied, issued or gain entry to the UK or whichever country that maybe and as applicable, the relative would need to answer yes and no where appropriate. And if further the application, the relative is to give specifics of the visa/travel or immigration history as in regards with the application, the relative should state- I am not able to recall due to lost of my previous travel documents, which in such an event, the police report would help support such claims. I hope this helped.. otherwise, I may not have understood your initial post |

giselle237: Thank you very much for your advice. Noted!. I actually not planning to apply now. Just trying to gather enough information as I can get now. You guys are really doing great work here. God bless As for those whom are fond of so called agent for Everything they want to do, be warned now or get ruined later. You can actually do it yourself and I believe I can do it myself too. Nairaland is here for me and I don't know about you . A very close friend of mine was banned 4yrs ago by UK for forgery documents. Our so called agents have done more harm than you can imagine. Thank you all |

Sus4: I will advise you not to upgrade to Limited liability because it's a liability on its own. Stick to that enterprise, clear up the annual returns, because the processes for the new one is choking. I must tell you, CAC don't have any agent, almost all processes are now online, which the chartered accountants will tell you that, they can't even fast track it. They will help you make the payments, send you the reciepts, file in the annual returns, and you exercise patience, within 1-2weeks or earlier, the status will change. I might not be 100% correct, but this is how I reactivated mine of 5 years inactivity |
