NNPC Confirms IOCs Exit, Insists On Gas Development by iwaeda: 6:50am On Mar 01, 2022 |
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited on Monday insisted that it would continue to develop Nigeria’s gas resources despite the exit of International Oil Companies from the country due to the global push for energy transition and net carbon zero target. https://punchng.com/nnpc-confirms-iocs-exit-insists-on-gas-development/ 3 Likes 1 Share

And finally, it's over for the petrol era, IOC backing out at this crucial time will cause more harm. May God give us the power to forge ahead. 7 Likes 1 Share |

Hear grammar, “Revitalising the Industry: Future Fuels and Energy transition.” What is NNPC revitalising? 4 Refineries that are moribund? Paper Tigers blowing classroom grammar that has no positive effect, while the citizens continue to suffer. 17 Likes 4 Shares |

This is a huge opportunity for private investments. Since Buhari's government lacks a good strategic vision plan, individuals should start looking into which spot to fill in the new energy value chain. Gas and oil will not live long. This I am sure of. I understand why the Nigerian government is still living in the last, but reality will always be faced one day. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Companies from diff countries entered Nigeria and made money through crude oil, what did Nigeria gain, nothing. Except thieves who cornered everything. Oil companies left yet buhari spent millions looking for oil in the North. Now, their focus is in the east. No wonder they will rather go to war than allow the east leave Nigeria. East is their next milking cow. Hence the destabilisation and constant killing. 12 Likes 3 Shares |

Lol everyone says they didn't benefit but they can't tell you why they didn't benefit. If resources control doesn't grant individuals ownership of mineral rights its waste of time. Chapter IV Fundamental Rights Exclusive Legislative List: 3 Likes |

“Africa is not denying the need to transit to renewable fuels, to cleaner energies, but we are only saying at this point, just when we are getting our act together, please allow us to enjoy our resources a little bit,” the minister stated. The minister is not serious. Oil was discovered in Nigeria in 1958, that is 64 years ago. When does the minister expect we will "get our act together"? No one is preventing Nigeria from enjoying our resources, I think what the minister is alluding to is we do not have the ability to extract oil and gas by ourselves. We relied for so long on foreign O&G companies, leaving our refineries moribund and NNPC a white elephant for corrupt Nigerians. In serious countries (e.g. Qatar and Saudi Arabia), we would be talking of developing the resources and manpower to tap our own resources, rather he is busy begging others to do it for him. 9 Likes 2 Shares |

now this is what leaders without a plan or vision do to a nation so blessed that they turn those blessings to problems and curses. now can any one tell me this: we discovered oil in 1956 and had our first refinery ph refinery in 1965, warri refinery in 1978 and kaduna refinery in 1987. within these period, oil was booming Nigeria currency was stable as we were not dependant on outsiders to refine our oil there by making us channel our funds to other developmental areas like roads and other infrastructure. Down the line our leaders decided they could make a killing by refining oil outside Nigeria and embarking on looting programs through subsidy all this while the whites were just looking at us give them crude oil for free to refine for us, which we now by back as finished products by doing so our currency began to loose value we no longer had funds to embark on infrastructural development as all ur funds was used to import our own oil (that is why there is a huge infrastructural gap in Nigeria till date) we could always built refineries to stop the drain but the money coming in was to good for our politicians to ignore now all this time foreigners were just laughing at us while they were making a killing from our own crude while we were taking losses now the golden egg has lost its value our leaders decided the money wasting cannot continue and we needed to build refinery hence dangote refinery was built something we could have built long time ago and made huge savings for the country. however the west just laughed at us and as soon as we thought we have finally gotten it right they played the climate change card companies started divesting from crude and going green making our crude worthless the glory days were over we came late to the party companies like exxon, shell total and the rest had mad a killing and taken all profits meant for us to their country and are now moving out. now we are left with a large refinery excess crude and no customers apart from Nigerians in house to sell our crude to. the world has moved on. now i know Nigerians would still be optimistic but guess what there is still a joker the west would play we are going to start paying climate tax and face stiff penalties of our continual dependence on oil in other words we have been raped as a nation during the crude boom and are going to be further molested post crude oil. The future is bleak for Nigeria and thats the fact!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 9 Likes 1 Share |
