The account is valid. But you need to go to the bank for further documentation. There is limit on the account.

The account has a limit of 50,000 .It is called First instant account. U need to upgrade it by visiting a nearest first bank branch with a valid ID card, a nepa bill and a passport photograph. You can't withdraw until you do the needful.

You can deposit but can't withdraw. Simple as that.

Transfer money into it. It's valid. When you are ready to withdraw your money, go and request for the ATM to the account. Without proper documentation, you won't be able to save more than 50k at once and not quite sure the account will save more than 300k

Op, you'll still need to go to the bank with those documents because the account is currently limited to receiving inflow, you won't be able to register your app or use used code for transfers without your atm card and you have to get that from the bank as well.

Lastly, if big money enters that account, it will be blocked till you visit the bank with those documents.

You best bet is to have the account to receive money you're not willing to spend soon, if you need to spend money in it, just jejely go to bank with the necessary documents for an account upgrade.

The account is valid bro, you'll still have to visit any of their branch for further documentation..

The account is valid but you still have to authenticate it at the bank to enable full usage.

Online account opening is called pre-account opening. You'll surely need to visit bank to complete your registration ( submission of utility bill, Id card, passport photograph etc...) in other to make the account a standard savings account.

Our own experience was awful in the hands of First Bank Plc and we keep appealing to well meaning Nigerians to help us by prevailing on FBN to pay us for our IP and sweat.

Opened one via ussd myself and have been using it for almost a year. Opened access bank too.

Deposit small money in the account and try to withdraw it afterwards.


If you can withdraw it, then the account is valid (although might be limited).

If you can't withdraw it, then you need to go to bank

Do you have a validly signed agreement with First Bank?
If yes, you need to sue First bank.

If this is a case of stolen design, you also need to be in court!

You can't deposit/transfer more than 50k at once which means you have to split any amount you intend paying into the account so it doesn't exceed 50 thousand for each payment.

And you can't save more than 300k in the account more like student account but this particular account is called first instant account.
