I want to be circumspect until I see the full judgement but I believe Faleke v INEC brought about this where the Supreme Court said the votes belong to a Party and not the Candidate.

The speaker also defected. So by law the chief judge of the state takes over until a new election is conducted within 90 days

I'm dead sure Umahi will remain governor. A similar case was dismissed recently. The judiciary is a mess.

Dem wan still waste inec money. They'll have to conduct election in those constituencies twice in less than a year. Edo lawmakers case still dey court till today and tenure don finish. Lol..... I would love to see an election between APC and PDP in Ebonyi sha.....I wan see weda Umahi dey on ground.

I remember vividly the case of KOGI state when Audu died the COURT (SUPREME) ruled that Vote's belong to the PARTY......

That's was how YAHAYA BELLO got the Governorship seat...and FALAKE lost..

Why would SUPREME COURT allow Vote's meant for PDP in zamfara, Ebonyi, Crossriver to be taken away...Those governors can defect if the want, but the VOTE'S should be given back to the party that WON.. whether it's APC or PDP...my take...

This is March and the case is not pre-election, so no need to hurry @ all. Their tenures will be over before judgement will suffice.

When it happened to Hon. Abegunde, it was just a few months before the 2015 General Election.

U see why I still dey respect okorocha. That man swept IMO state as APC flag bearer in the election after his defection. I never thought it was possible for APC to win an election in the East until okorocha did.
