Monitor your oil levels, if consumption appears much higher then it means your piston rings are worn and need replacement.

Use quality oils. Also check couplings to metal frame. Tighten all loose nuts and dampers

I need your help sir. I recently purchased a Thermocool 10KVA Petrol generator with remote and electric starter- but I noticed they both do not work- only the recoil starter works.

However, I can stop the generator with remote once it starts working- so my question is- why and how does the remote works when I press stop but never responds whenever I press start. The electric starter doesn’t work as well whenever I need to power off the gen- I have to pull the rope every time then use the remote to put off the generator whenever I need to.

Return it. it should have been tested before you left the showroom.

Sept last year my Gen had issues and the mechanic had to change the carburettor, worked well for sometime.

Now sound has changed and the current is unstable( i dey fear on my freezer). The mechanic i called even had to service the carburettor but not much changed and fuel consumption increased so he advised i buy a new carburettor.

Please i need an advise on what to do next. I'm also told that good original carburettor is scarce i dunno if it's true but if true where can i get one?

My little experience on this, go for a high quality carburettor. A friend had same issue on his gen about same time as yours last year I advised him to get a good carb he ended up buying one of 1K as against that of 3500 now he has changed the carb again for a higher quality one.

Go to a good shop were they sell carbs you should request for a good quality carb.

I had issues with my smaller Elepaq generator and decided to buy the attached Thermocool generator today from a Thermocool showroom.

My question is if the generator can conveniently carry a 220L LG fridge, a TV and a standing fan.

Is this product a good one?

Price is 135k.

Anyone with experience using Thermocool generators should Kindly advise.

Got it from a dealer on jumia. The dealer is also registered on TEC website.

Your engine is weak. Increase the engine's firing speed. If it does not work, replace the piston rings, half engine or get a new genset.

well I just got mine as Tec and the fuel consumption is on the high side , I don’t like that , what can I do ??

Try and locate their service center around you, they should have. I don't have an Idea of the price but you should be ready to part with over 50k.

Good morning peeps. My generator of two years suddenly finds it difficult to carry the usual load. my UPS/Power surge won't come up and the fan will not run as fast as it could. I only use it for bulbs alone for now. I'm afraid of calling mechanic, most of them just complicate matter and you will turn to their weekly customer. Though the gen leaks oil a little, I make sure I top up regularly to avoid issues.

Any reason for the weak output recently?

Your genset engine is weak. Increase the firing speed a bit to get better power output. Nevertheless, save for replacement of its piston rings or better still, half engine.

3.5kva genset will consume slightly more fuel on similar load than a 2.5kva genset. This occurs because the former has a larger piston and engine block that draws more air fuel mixture into the combustion chamber.
