Sounds like The Mill Community Grocery. If yes, it is a charity shop run by the Church of England

So is it public funds? Cos they give a membership card so u come with that card on each day u shop and then u pay 3pounds.

The name is "community grocery shop" it is being operated by the methodists.

From the mail they sent to me this morning. The things they stock are being donated by shops like morissons and other food suppliers.

This is perfectly ok

As lexusgs430 has suggested, travel to the US and do all your shopping. Its cheaper than you think. If you travel off peak, you can get return BA flights from London to New York for around £350-£400.

Prior to the pandemic, I would travel to the US at least twice a year for vacation and stock up on casual/office wear. Talk about using one bird to kill two stones. grin My username says it all. You get the best RL outfits for the best prices in the US. grin

If you do not hold a foreign passport, getting a US visa is very easy. You just need to understand the "common" strategy that applies for UK resident applicants.

Pls what are the common strategy that applies for UK resident.. I will have to go for easter holiday there... Please can you guide me on what to do

Thanks

I am actually serious. For example, if you go to the council and get a 3 bedroom house without paying a dime, or they pay you job seekers allowance every week. Your body sef go swell. But this one, you're paying to access a retail store in your community albeit discounted.

Hehehe

Always the opportunist. The masters students that are underemployed in care sector never do them they want to turn everyone to careers for 2 years.

If care isn't taken it will turn like farmers that live on farms and are overworked without appropriate compensation

We already seeing that with Dorm care.... a lot of employers here refuse to pay for travel so you have Dom carer traveling up and down 15 hours a day but only paid 8 pounds. Initially its might be fine but long term this is very draining and not appropriately compensated. .... a lot of the carer jobs for international is dom you are seeing up and down.

Anyone with the knowledge please help.

If one sees a business opportunity like say: you discover restaurants need sachet water (for instance) and you intend to provide them with the sachet water after discussing with them and they need it. Do you need to register a business to carry out this type of supply kind of business or it can be done without registering a business name or company?

Or you discover they need zobo to improve their business. You discuss with them and it turns out they buy your idea, do you need to register to run this or you can proceed to supply them.

I hope you get the idea. I need advice please.

1. Register a company or register as a sole trader
2. Open a business bank account
3. Get the required mandatory license/registration required (if applicable for your business activity)
4. Get business insurance (professional indemnity, legal cover, etc). This is very important
5. Prepare a contract. Free templates are available online. Its best to get the contract signed by both parties to avoid a situation where you deliver goods and you do not get paid
6. As soon as the business starts trading actively, get yourself an accountant

Simply wait for 3 or more months after receiving the funds in your account before you make a full mortgage application as lenders usually ask for bank statements of the last 3 months preceding your application.

That's if the person is taking it towards the end of the contribution. I suspect that this might nit work if it's done towards the middle of the contribution. How would you wait 3 months without contributing your own part of the contribution which will obviously show up in the bank statement?

Hi guys, please permit me to post this question here, I just need advice from people already living in the UK

Please I have offers from Bournemouth university and Kingston university to study Adult nursing msc and I am having trouble deciding which to pick . I am well aware that Kingston is close to London so rent is so high but my husband is a banker and feels there would be more opportunities for him closer to London. Now if I pick Kingston are there areas with affordable rent we can live in , that is not so far from school ?

Please I would love to hear from people who have lived in Bournemouth or surrey please

Thank you

Abeg, enjoy you new found grocery savings freely. Nothing concern that one with Eliza purse.

Simply wait 3 months after you receive your lump sum payment.
My brokers allows ajoor, it was classified thrift savings. Its not unusual for some communities as they explained.

The times I tried it , even when I bought , shipped in to my sister and had them ship it to me. ... the tax man was waiting for me in UK so I don't bother again. Instead worse case I target sales in the UK. You can get some really good deals in sales
But why are clothings unnecessarily expensive in UK compared to other EU countries as well?

Someone that lives in Nigeria told me UK clothes are of better quality than the US. How true?

To the question, maybe the tax differences

What's your husband's field/experience in banking? Let us know, so we can advice accordingly.

That said, the US investment bank, JP Morgan have a large operational office in Bournemouth.

Turkey is great. If you know where to go you can get some really really fantastic clothes for less than UK prices.

US is a mixed market. You get the very good and the terrible. In the UK standards are stricter. To get terrible you most likely have to go on ali express or wish etc. So when people back home really want quality the perception is that you’re better off sticking to the UK to be safe.

Yes, I've heard Turkey sell quality and affordable clothes. I have also seen it for myself as I used to have work colleague who was a Swiss resident and national. He would travel from Swiss to Turkey regularly to shop for work clothes.

Oh and always set some money aside for a rainy fund. You own a house and all the responsibility is yours. Boiler breaks down? You need funds for that. Fence blows over in the storm? You pay. Toilet blocks? You pay. Basically learn to do minor house repairs on your. Painting, tiling, cleaning gutters, hanging and removing wall papers etc are all skills I have learnt from owning our own home.

Solicitor fees is usually between £300 and £600 ish

Most brokers are free to you - they get commission from the bank.

Stamp duty is payable on properties above £125k so budget for that as well - https://www.gov.uk/stamp-duty-land-tax/residential-property-rates.

If you buy a flat or apartment, you will also pay a service charge and/or lease charge plus ground rent. For any apartments, your solicitor should check how much the sinking fund is, when major repairs were last undertaken (imagine moving in and being stung for a roof replacement!) etc. Check the length of the lease. If shorter than 110 years, abandon ship!

I'll add more as I remember.

Where did you get your solicitor? mine charged me more than 2k the greedy you know what…

Absolutely no problem, I have traveled to Nigeria with 8days left on my passport and came back with just 2days left. When asked I told the immigration officer that I will renew it when I get to the UK.

Please how was the renewal process like In the UK? I have been reading about the Nigeria embassy in London regarding this renewal issue and their high level of extortion. Please can you give more insight ?
