Yoruba-Igbo marriage doesn't usually end well.

This I have noticed.

Language barrier, different traditional belief, custom and practice, different delicacies, unnecessary misunderstanding etc.

Just very very few of them stood the test of time.

There's one Adesola I met in a clinic in Onitsha. She's from Osun State married to Anambra guy. She was given an Igbo name Onyinyechukwu(God's gift). They got married newly and she relocated to Onitsha, Anambra State with her husband.

I just pray she won't have delays in conceiving or have any issues with her husband. She looked calm and quiet.

Honestly, I'm not an advocate of inter-tribal marriage.

RIP Itunuoluwa and her baby.

Trust me 95% of igbo people are tribalist bigot... They have problem with all tribes in Nigeria... Imagine everyone having issues with you in the whole community but yet you claim the whole community is bad... You should check yourself... Thats the case of igbos... I dont want to say this on this thread but its just the truth and i am currently facing such...
The girl love me so much and i loved her but the parent dont like me all because i am not an igbo... Nothing else...
Can you imagine...
The girl said all igbo she has been with are not good and she doesnt love them in which she told me her parents are aware of but she said they told her to learn to love any one of them and manage them... She even told me to run away together where we will live in secrete but i dont support such... Imagine all in the name of being a tribal bigot they are ready to trade their daughter happiness...
Never seen that in my life until now

Omo Yiibo. we are talking about a Yoruba lady getting married to a Yiibo Beast Husband who then killed her an her baby and you are talking about another Yiibo Bus Driver who killed another Yoruba Passenger!

Both Killers are Yiibos, that is another reason why l concluded that Violence is the first and second nature of Yiibos.

Even the Ibo Language sounds Violent (Just watch two or three Yiibos discussing football, you will call Police that they want to kill each other, only to realise they are just discussing Football and it is their natural nature that is so aggressive) grin grin

This is what I always tell people. Nigeria is not the problem, it is the citizens. Majority of Nigerians are wicked people.

It is not necessarily wickedness.

The motive behind domestic homicide (or murder generally) is usually multifaceted.

From the story, he got tired of her after their first child.

Perhaps, she began to nag him.

The psychologists who have studied domestic homicide say that when the killer is about to strike their spouse, they are only thinking about themselves, usually seeing themselves as the victim, and trying to eliminate whatever is constituting a threat.

There was a horror movie I watched. I think it is the "Grudge", an American-Japanese horror movie. The husband was nagging his wife as she served him breakfast. Without saying a word, she just lifted the saucepan and poured hot oil on the husband, and whacked him with the saucepan, killing him.

The layman might be quick to call it "wickedness". But there is more to that homicide than wickedness.

I dont know why you guys talk this nonsense.. once a lady is financially of more privilege than the husband, the husband automatically married her because of money

Most cases it like that.
It sweet marrying woman with money.

Wait a minute just four years into the marriage, and he was already beating her. This is so bad. She took a loan for him, wow! So there are women that could go this length to support their husband. This man is a fool. Even if she had an annoying bad mouth. No body is perfect. There are ways to settle marital problems maturely

Truth is, this death could have been avoided but you see, i don't know what goes on in the brain of some women that after experiencing first and second physical abuse from a man will still be cohabitating with him. Like seriously, does Marriage take away their senses? Hm!

Domestic abuse will strive unabated just like criminal activities until the perpetrators are given stiffer punishments to serve as a deterrent to other future offenders!

No need sending the idiot to prison, they should tie a big stone around him and throw him into the ocean. Don't just believe all what u read on d internet. It is unfortunate d woman died. I am not happy d woman died but most women frustrate men in commuting this kind mistake. No man in his right senses will want to beat his pregnant wife. U should all know this. Am talking with experience. Something will ignite a quarrel. Men should be very careful or else your wife will put u in a mess like this. Anything can happen it can even be d wife was d one trying to kill d husband and things just turn around. Well it is d man at fault now. D world will blame him because his actions caused d woman's death. But me I will never judge by d story I read on d internet. Is funny to see boys wey never marry to be advising on issue of husband and wife here.
My advice to u men is pray u will never marry a woman that will put u into this shit.

I wonder why some women hesitate to quit abusive marriages. It's better to be divorced than to be deceased.

Oh no why man. Even if your wife is the problems to your failure it doesn't make sense hitting her repeatedly till she slumps and give up the ghost. She even gave you 2million and plus, their are ways to threat a nagging woman if so. Step out of your home for months, send monthly stipends, get a house girl or her mother to live with her. All you need to do is to come and give her the fruit of the womb and flee again. By the time she have 3-4 kids everywhere will be full with responsibility. Women pass through post atenatal disorder. A-lot to say but now she is gone and Chigozie you are a Bonus murderer.

You nailed everything on the head, Best option so far.

From the story, he got tired of her after their first child.

Perhaps, she began to nag him.

.

No need tyo guess or make excuse for this Beast.
He never loved her, from the word go, he was only interested in her Money. hence he borrowed #2,7Million from her.

The first Pregnancy was done to tie her down, for his own selfishness.
Once the Money is no longer forthcoming, he had no further use for her and since she was not ready to flee (at least not before asking for her money), he resorted to "I will beat you till you die or run away"
.
And that is exactly what he did.
Anyone who loves his wife will not beat her during pregnancy, because we all know it is a delicate period (That is not a License for a Woman to misbehave though), even if she does very bad things, better to just escuse her by walking away.

But the Yiibo Beast keeps beating her, over and over again, till he killed her and he is not the only case.
Yoruba Wife to Igbo husband, is a disaster waiting to happen, that l have come to realise.

But that is also domestic violence.

Domestic violence is not only physical abuse.

It can also be psychological abuse, which is what you are suggesting through this post of yours.

Using isolation to teach your spouse a lesson is psychological abuse, and it is a type of domestic violence.

Sadly, we are only fixated on physical abuse, while there are even more deadly types of abuse.

For example, physical abuse is visible and can be easily contained. But what about subtle abuses which can go unnoticed, such as emotional and psychological abuse? The victim does not even know that they are being abused. So, there is no chance of them seeking help or getting help.
Thanks for educating the dunce.

They're all disgusting hypocrites. Not one of the females here condemned her. Rather, they were even blaming the man with made up lies against him. Even worse were the many foolish males here that joined in blaming the male victim with unsubstantiated false claims.
