GeneralDae: And the ignorance is on them. And you. Migration is part of the human story. What are these national boundary lines anyway? You have Irish and German descendants in the US whose ancestors migrated here for a better life multiple generations ago. Nigerian descendants down the line would be thankful their great great grandparents came over to the west. And I’ll take the racism in the west over the petty tribalism in Africa every day of the week. Anyhow, I don’t let anyones narrow minded view of human nature affect me. Love my country my big foot. The world is mine 22 Likes 2 Shares |

tensazangetsu20:You are an IT guy, what is your plan? Do you intend just working for the white man and having the good life for you and your family until you are 70? Or would you eventually build a software that solves a need in Nigeria even if you control things from abroad or travel around? Whatever you do you would not be wrong because it's your choice. Me, I am no IT guy but I'm already in touch with a friend who is into IT and we may solve a need in Delta state (I would take care of marketing and some other stuff), even if we decide not to be based permanently in the country. That's my point. 4 Likes |

helovesnyash:Unfortunately the oyinbos who enslaved our ancestors, whom we are running to now, do not see it that way. They quarrel, but they come together when it benefits their country or when it benefits whites over black. It's thesame way they came together in Berlin in the 19th century to divide Africa among themselves. Frances, Britain, Portugal, etc know when to come together. Everything they did those days to the detriment of your ancestors was to the benefit of their race, countries, descendants, etc and they knew it. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Anyone abroad discouraging people from coming should be ignored. And yes many Nigerians in the past did cleaning, mortuary and other menial jobs. Some still do. In those days alot of them travelled with visiting visa and overstayed. They wont qualify for office jobs till they get stay by marrying someone. But today due to labour shortage and openess of companies some even hire people direct from Nigeria, hire people with right papers or international students who just graduated. No think say you will go to uk or usa on visiting Visa and microsoft or google go hire you 15 Likes 2 Shares |

tensazangetsu20: Are you serious about your claims? That some anonymous person is the one discouraging you from traveling. You don't know anything about me but will accept a post if I give you reasons not to travel. I think you're spending more time on nairaland than on your travel plans. I'll tell you this most people on this platform cannot travel out of Nigeria legally or illegally to western countries. They only obsess about western countries daily and wish their dreams come true. Unfortunately, they'll spend most of their productive years on their wishful thinking instead of making their lives productive in Nigeria and forging ahead. If it was easy for you to jet out you would have done so before now, but you realize it's no easy task. While I salute your determination and focus in migration, you'll eventually realize that your view of the western world is skewed. I have received more ambitious individuals than yourself and after 3 years they start complaining about their new country. Learn from what others post, filter out what you don't want. Don't be discourage by such posts. Not everything will always make sense to you now but some will later. Some are exaggerations, some are true and some are false likewise posts about Nigeria. Sometime ago you were against DSA but today you know the importance, tomorrow you'll learn something even more important. I've assisted a few to move abroad from Nigeria and I've also encourage a few to move back to Nigeria. You know the reason. The essence of life is far above where you live. Discover the meaning of life, you'll be happy. In all that you do, remain focus, pray for success and divine favor. 19 Likes 2 Shares |

tensazangetsu20: True. This is why we should all insist that we break up Nigeria to save lives. I don't like the idea of living in other people's country forever because the truth of the matter is, they have the right to ask you to leave at anytime. Even if they have managed to give you their citizenship, they can come up with a new immigration and nationality bill or policy that will say, if you don't have ancestral ties to this land, in other words, if you are not an indigenous son or daughter of the soil, you have to leave. Then what do you do then? You will have to leave. And don't underestimate racism and racial hate. White Nationalists are not smiling. Their numbers are increasing daily all around Europe and in other white nations and many of them don't want Black people in their spaces or faces. They want a racially homogeneous all white nation and I guess that is their right. Your physical presence can trigger them and they won't mind killing you too because they see you as a lesser human being anyway. They won't care that you are an IT professional and that you have come to make money. In their minds, they are thinking, why can't your Black behind make money back in Africa? Why are you coming to their homelands? Lastly, never you underestimate other racial groups. Just because the white man gave you a job does not mean they or the society the white man comes from likes you. Don't get it twisted. But some of you white-worshiping Nigerian coons will have to end up learning things the hard way. 3 Likes |

dasparrow:The problem with our people is that they travel to many of these countries and are not current on the political climates in some of these countries. Some Nigerians here in the name of Japa, would likely go to a country like South Africa, whereas many South African citizens see the Nigerians coming into their country as majorly criminals. Yet our people don't care, they'll still flock there. You go to the U.S, you have people there with sentiments like: Why couldn't you build your country back home and why did you flee? You are benefiting from the foundation our forefathers laid. There are many Americans today (white and black) who may likely vote for a Republican in 2024 because they are tired of immigrants coming into their country especially black immigrants. Because black immigrants as a group are not respected no matter how great they are individually simply because of the state of their countries. So in summary, I encourage people to travel in order to build skills, but in all these, know that you are in a foreign land. The whites are nice of course and racism is way lower than what it was 50 years ago, but considering the state of our nation, are we respected? 3 Likes |

dasparrow: Two things I easily spotted out here: A. Your post is a coping mechanism. B. You're among the <20% of the total population that has things going well for him/her because the pastures are greener and the places both cozy and rosy. At least, you can conveniently pay your bills with little to no stress. I'm not arguing the case against racism, it is true. However, it's way different as the media wants us to view it. The major factor which I think is more detrimental to blacks which is tantamount to racism is 'black in black crimes'. Many blacks in diaspora are doing well and living peacefully with their foreign neighbors; same way many blacks out of dumbness and myopic inclinations are causing serious damages both home and abroad. Hardly any serious crime in the world, that a black man won't be involved regardless of the location it happened. It might not be pure black/African, but at least, there must be a trace of black which is not far-fetched. Black is Blacks problem because of their black minds. Various restrictions and sanctions has been placed on Africans/Nigerians because of black crimes. An ordinary innocent Nigerian can't work smoothly or get international jobs because their foreign counterparts are scared. Only with efficiency and great competency with enough credibility do few blacks scale pass the hurdles. Can anything good come out of Nigeria? No! Except by a divine intervention. Or, an asteroid helps filter out all the useless leaders from the head to the tail. The high level of deliberation and consciousness (political) leaders of the nation perfect their rapaciousness and various crimes in broad daylight is a telling signal that the country is heading to the dusts. There's no need trying to claim father's land blah blah blah. Wherever you find peace and have rest of mind is truly your father's land. And if living in diaspora can fulfill that hope, it is a great joy and a welcome development. Better to live in a foreigner's land and achieve your dream than in a third world nation you claim citizenship by birth but have nothing to boast of. More grease to your elbow as you search for more hands to join you repair this damaged nation. As for me and the op, "we don wash our hands comot from Nigeria matter...na make we see legit opportunity to take Japa na we dey look for so". Thanks. 19 Likes 7 Shares |

Bifwoli: Yes, this is true, however, the onus in development is when the dominant ethnic group is pragmatic, enterprising and meritocratic. If Fulani elites were like the Han Chinese, Nigerians would have been better off. This is because the dominant group would want to ensure things go their way, thus, a functional society. CaveAdullam: The person you quoted has a morbid hatred for Nigerians. She relocated to Abuja from either the US or Europe and after witnessing what it means to live in a brutish environment, she fled to a no-name country in Central America. She should not be taken seriously o emigration issues as she is an online witch whose main aim is to dissuade young and ambitious Nigerians from fleeing doom. 3 Likes |

tensazangetsu20: leave that guy. Despite them be racist, they have impacted and change people lives for the better compare to your own black race. Look at south Africa for example, the black south Africans always flex their muscles with the black foreigner whom are even in the same racial group. When they see the white, they give them chance. The funny thing is that the white are the ones even manipulating and using them indirectly but they are blind to it. They always go for other black nationality. 1 Like |
