I swear down it's heart breaking when I come here and see people's PPR testimony and it's like mine has been forgotten...

As the applicant, I am a social worker and going for Masters in Social Work, So for my home ties, I have an approved government NGO with a shelter for homeless women and my siblings, retired mother, hubby owns a farm, etc..

Please I don't know if it's wise to apply together..Really, I just want to focus on my studies without the whole emotional trauma that comes with couples being apart, the time difference ish plus the thought of leaving my baby (Ngo) for a while is killing enough.

I don't know if it's a wise decision to apply together, as I don't have any intention of using him as my home ties, My ngo is strong enough reasons and my family I believe if we'll package.

In between, Our marriage is barely a month old but we've been together for close to 7 years and we are both over 34 years with no kids.

Kindly advise.

Please house, my student visa was approved but I missed January. Will be going September cos my school do not have May. Can I apply for SOWP without student permit? If No, Can I apply for visitor Visa for my spouse now with my Visa and apply for SOWP later and Please, is medicals required for visitor visa?

Hi,

I will advise you apply together. It doesn't decrease your chance of approval given the home ties you have. If you apply first, you may have to wait some months before applying for him, which is not cool for a new couple. But please attach any other proof of marriage you have, in addition to the certificate. You can also add other proofs or explanation to show that you have been in a serious relationship for a while.

But the truth is with all the news m reading here about people waiting close to and more than a year without any response is scary. I am thinking of applying for visitor’s but then again , I saw a recently rejected application with dual intent (SOWP and visitor) here on this same forum. Reason they gave was applicant appeared quite desperate. Pls house, can you advice if I shld still go ahead with the visitor’s application

Hellooo @ladyBlag please can you educate me on how you did this in canada here. I applied for one on jan 14th got it on feb 18th but it was through a third party site becos i couldnt navigate going through the 5cad route well hence I ended up paying 20cad. All other things has been done except for eligibility review which has not started up till the date my spouse notes was ordered.

I am not sure the post stated dual application: rather " multiple" It was not clear if it was dual or more ...I tried to find out exactly how many applications but there was no response from the person who posted that. I wish to get a clearer response on this too. It will be of great help . We have also seen applicants with sowp and visitor's visa being approved.

I can bet it's an Sowp and Visiting Visa application. Different VOs with different perception and different intuition. A friend has also applied for study and visiting for her kids and both were approved. Make we just dey pray for this grace

First, I hope you have sent your new letter of acceptance via webform to IRCC, if not, please do.

Because you have indicated that your spouse is not accompanying you (I assume) when filling your study permit application, this is dicey. If you still want to apply before you leave, I will advise that you wait till about 2 months before your departure, then apply for your spouse's open work permit. You can add your study permit to his application via webform when you get it. But you will have to justify why he is now accompanying you; I think you can leverage the fact that you deferred your admission to weave a story.

Medical exam is required for visitor visa if it's more than 6 months.

Thanks for your response. My approval came late and my program don't have May just September. I told IRCC that my spouse can't accompany me because he is yet to get leave approval from his workplace

My husband want to apply for study permit, he has study leave from his work and he plans to use it and his house property as home ties. When filling the visa application can he put that my son and I will come along with him for his studies? Hope we won’t raise a red flag by doing that?

When filling your study permit application, what was your response when you were asked if she will accompany you?

If you had answered no, I will advise you wait and finish at least a semester before trying visitor visa (if at all). And when you do, try to convincingly justify why you are applying for a visitor visa when an SOWP is pending.

Got my application approved in October 2021, got married in December same year. I dint state that was coming with me, however I stated in my SOWP that I had a fiancée.
