I think that 17 weeks is from the day they received your biometric from biometric office in Nig, the wait is killing me

I applied on July 1st
Biometric was done on the 8th July
Got confirmation email from VAC about completing my biometric on the 22nd of July
Do not start counting from the day you submitted online application or the day you did your biometric
Start counting from the day IRCC received your biometric from VAC
So in my case I'm currently on the 17th week and yet nothing ☹️Still waiting for medical request

I am a bit scared with the timelines I am seeing oooo. I do not have a timeline yet but intend to submit my SOWP application in the first quarter of 2017. Please can someone also share the documents they submitted so we can learn while gathering docs.

Basically, the most important document is your spouse permit in Canada (Study permit or Post Graduate Work Permit). As in PGWP, they require your spouse to have a job in NOC Level O, A or B to qualify.

Other required documents are your international passport, photograph and IMM form.

You would need to provide a LOE where you could include your spouse issued permit (Study or Work), your marriage certificate, wedding pictures etc to prove your relationship.

I think online applications are actually the culprit here....anyone applied through paper and still waiting beyond processing time?

You can get the name of the member of parliament by following this link....you need your postal code. Call them and they will explain how you will go about doing it

What about bank statement , is it not part of the requirement? if it is, where do you include it? Also is the applicant education qualification also a factor to determine SOWP approval?

Any specific docs for the kids? I have also read up somewhere that they are not so strict on pof, but what will be your advise regarding the amount I should save up to print out a six month statement? Thanks ahead!

Yes I share your view. I know someone on nairaland who applied via paper and his processing took about 10 weeks.

i was just reading the thread. What did you apply for with CIC that is taking so long?

Bank statement is not part of the requirement but including a 6-month or so statement will cause no harm.

It can be included in your LOE. The applicant's qualification is not a determinant. It is the status of the spouse in Canada that is important in SOWP.

Sigh! But what is cause of the delay. It wasn't like this last year. I was delayed last year and it took just 2 months and 2weeks to get a response. But now it's over 7months
