Good afternoon everyone. I need help here. I have been in the pool for ages, time to look into other routes. So I studied Human Anatomy however I have been working as a customer service representative in a financial institution for almost 4 years. I initially started with attending to customers at the branch but at the moment I am currently at the contact Centre section of the department though I do supervisory roles, I still attend to customers on all communication channels. Which of the following post graduate diploma courses would be advisable for me to enroll in that would show career progression.

Public relations/Public relations- Corporate communication
Business Administration
Human Resources Management.
Strategic Management
Strategic Marketing Communication.
Marketing Corporate Account Management.
Marketing Management
Strategic Relationship Management.

Also, I intend to switch back to health but I read that it is advisable to wait till I land before switching courses. Can I however get the admission for the course I intend to switch to before leaving the country or is it advisable to land before applying?

Hello everyone.

Please Gurus in the house, if IRCC send you a medical appointment letter, will I still schedule an appointment with IOM?

Please what’s the best/fastest bank to use for Form A.

Is there anyone here that used Eco Bank? How long did it take?

Yes ma'am

But if you book and you're not able to meet the 30 days period, you can walk into the designated hospital (IOM or QLIFE) with your medical request form and tell them of your predicament.
They will try to work something out for you.

Try to use banks that have smaller customer bases.

I can attest to the speed of Sterling Bank, unity bank, keystone bank.

Please what program can a diploma holder apply
for? A diploma program from University of Lagos? quote author=Lekiboboe post=111028221]

It is not advisable for a degree holder to apply for a Diploma cos it shows no Academic/Career progression.

A Visa Officer will easily assume your Purpose of Visit to Canada is not to study but to JAPA if you go for a Diploma, and that's a red flag on a Study Visa Application.

In your best interest, since you have a business Experience , go for a PG. Cert Business program in a College (Your Best Shot).[/quote]

It was a long waiting period but I thank God that it all ended in praise. I am presently in Ontario with my 2 kids. I want to encourage those still waiting for PPR’ no 2 application is treated the same ‘ do your best and leave the rest for God.

grin These questions are hilarious. You can get a SP but gathering appropriate documents and applying. Go to the first page of this thread you'll see all you need. After securing your visa go to the work permit thread and ask how to secure a work permit.

The delay is because your application is still being processed.

Nothing to do about it for now, except that you patiently wait and pray.

Quiver:
Hello guys! Can someone please help me on this.
Since 20th January when I did my biometrics, I haven't heard anything or gotten any email on going further or even my medicals.

What could be the delay?
Is there something I could do about this?

1. If you plan to invite your family immediately after your study permit approval, apply for everyone at once instead (student + family). You just need other means of demonstrating home ties (e.g. father, mother, business, etc.) or show evidence that you had always returned to Nigeria whenever you travelled abroad.

2. I will advise you apply for SOWP. The processing can be faster when attached to study permit.

3. Yes, study permit for the children too (although, visitor visa can work).

4. Sorry to hear about this. I have seen applicants with sickle cell approved, but I have never seen one rejected. Just inform the panel physician about it when the child goes for medical.

Best of luck!

RxOtunba:
Hello,

Please for someone who wants to apply as a family (student + wife and kids), what kind of visa will the wife apply for, is it a visitor's visa (since sowp takes so long, or when applied together with the student, sowp will be treated faster)?

For children of ages between 5-15yrs, what visa will be applied? Study permit right?

Can Sickle Cell condition affect the medical/visa outcome? One of the children is a Sickle Cell patient.

I was concerned about our overzealous folks at Nigeria Airports too, but I realized that you can always ginger them to enquire from their superiors on the matter. My school held orientation course for us on Saturday and they mentioned it specifically that you can come with either pcr or antigen

You can do either of the test but know that antigen has to be a day before you travel while PCR is 72 hours before you travel.

Hello, I think check your portal for updates, they aren't really sending emails like that. For all you know your medicals has been upgraded to pass.

Its lower to his 1st degree.. HND is an Higher diploma, right?

But at the same time if he can truly convince the Visa officer on the reason he is going for a lower degree, then he can get his visa..

But if you know you don't have concrete and genuine reason why you going for a lower degree, I will advise you go for a higher degree which is a post graduate degree in your case.

Peace

Hello Marytess

Yes, you will still need to schedule an appointment with the clinic, but they give priority to applicants that get Medical request from IRCC cos tere is a timeline from IRCC for the medical to be done..

1. SOWP or visit visa is allowed and will be treated faster when submitted with student visa application. However, it raises more questions about home tie.

2. I don't have a sure answer for that. I will let others respond.

3. Please research this very well. IRCC reject people with serious diseases, like cancer, that could cost more than the maximum individual medical threshold (about $20,000 per year). However, I have also seen a former international student that successfully defend his PR inadmissibility based on medical ground. He and his Canadian doctor provided evidence that his treatment will be below the treshold and he won't be a liability to the government after his PR.
