I was just commenting on the high level of backwardness in most parts of Nigeria.
such is a big error based on the fact that with our vast resources, we are not supposed to be in the second nor third world countries.
Moreover, The North has opportunities to be taken.
Abuja, Kano, Kaduna, and illori are good places also.

U dey stay after ajah dey complain. I live in Lekki axis, and most times babes dey say my neighborhood dey very quiet, no agbero fighting nor men gossiping about politics and Chelsea football club. No disrespect but mainland is full of thugs. The only issue I have with these zones is the water. But if not for the hustle and the cheddar, Lagos na suffer head.

You don't know what you are talking about. Ikoyi, Lagos island, Victoria island are the islands people actually mean. There are many islands in Lagos but people don't usually regard them. Ajah down to eleko are all surrounded by water.

I am curious too. I’ve lived at Phase1 off Bisola Durosinmi Etti and I know what it costs. There was so much noise! There was this werey with his powerbike and he would just be going the whole length of the road by 2am!!! The sound would startle me from sleep. Kai, I almost developed a high bp.

Yaba, Surelere, Ogba, Ikeja, Festac, Ago Palace, Egbeda, Abule Egba, Maryland, Anthony, Some part of Obanikoro and Palm Groove, Wilmer Street (Ajegunle), extreme cases like Iba (the army housing eatat is nice), Epe is bae if you like a quiet ambient kind of environment and finally ikorodu towards the local government side, ebute and itamaga side.

We, the people of Rivers state, don't care about Mainland or Island. All we know is Lagos — the dirty and stressful city with some cool places.

To enjoy steady power supply 18 - 23hours, with good road network, just go to Magodo GRA / Shangisha axis
, you also kind of get the island vibe.

Surulere is ok,those streets near alh Masha ,so u can be taking "brt"� buses to island

Now don't laugh this off. This is a rather serious comparison as it's my first time in Lagos and as such my first time on the Island.

According to the topic, I will like readers especially those who reside in Lagos to share their opinions as to which of these major residential areas in Lagos is actually more value for money.

I've lived in the Ajah axis of Lagos Island for about 7 months and I can confidently tell you that I will not advise any newcomer to pay rent to live here. Electricity is bad, water is terrible, roads are bad too and for those who commute the Lekki-Epe express road daily know how hellish it can be when there is a surge in traffic.

Tbh, most people living on the island are suffering and smiling, even those who you think are well to do are having it worse.

I'm considering moving away from the Island and finding a serene environment on the mainland to live in. I heard that Magodo/Berger area is true, please how true is this? I will like readers who reside in Lagos to share their thoughts on other serene environments one can live in where one can get good basic amenities. This will definitely help other people as well. Thanks.

I used to live on mainlaind before relocating to the overhyped island.Anything after VGC is nothing but over hyped slum.Mainland is far better abeg.

Anything after VGC is for the future,probably 10 to 20 years times.All those places after Ajah are nothing but slum.Infact their lifestyle there is something else and you will be wondering if you are still in lagos.Abeg them never open eye for that side,just over hyped area

This comparison always comes up. One babe was staying on the mainland but always longed to live on the island.

She eventually moved to lekki. Now she wants to go back to the mainland and is looking for a place. She said the life there is fake. People are just packaging. A guy will wind up his car windows but has no AC .

We all need to regain perspectives. When our parents generations where at our age. The first factor they considered was affordability so funds could be channeled to building finances and their lives. When we choose very expensive places and start with that, we starve ourselves off disposable income which could have been channeled to building our lives at the expense of comfort and luxury.


Let me gist you what i did when i left the island


My business is in the cloud which means i can pack up and relocate anytime. I structured my business this way so my life doesn't stop whenever i need to move. So guess what, i relocated to Mowe. Guess what i enjoyed?

20 hours light

Road access perfect

2 Bedroom, wardrobe and all i didnt spend more than 300k total package per annum for a house thats worth almost 750k per annum on the island. Within that one year, i built up, climbed the ladder faster than i did on the island in 5 years. With finances built, i re-routed to berger and grew 5 times more than I was at Mowe cause i had saved more disposable cash. 3 years now, mmy blueprint shows the success rate i would never had achieved on the island in ten years within just 3 years. Now im returning. SO if you see the projectile curve i took, it was channeled to self development. Island is making lives stunted. People remaining on the same financial level for years

Spot on!! The money you use to pay house rent on island would get you plots of land in Epe and Badagry

Forget all this story,all those Ibeju lekki are overhyped areas.They are not yet developed ,maybe in the next twenty years.Mainland remains the best

if your reason is cost of properties or commodities, you'd be very surprised at how little the differences are.

Apart from VGC ,Ajah is overhyped and it’s is part of Ijebu community and not island
