Ghanaians are ready to sacrifice their lives on the pitch and their coach isn't a media hugging person.

I have bought my Ghanaian Jersey

Ok o, osondi owendi. I strongly believe that the job a national team coach to maximize the strengths of his available players. I won't lie, I am beginning to feel nervous with Egu right now. If any driver keeps looking at the rear mirror, he is bound to crash.

A national team coach's job is not to only make use of available players but keep building the team.

You are absolutely right. Building a team is definitely very important, while building up it's imperative not to tear down the team with statements which seem to have any iota or even remote semblance of lack of confidence in any of the players

The journalist wanted to know why Eguavoen has been touring the local leagues and the coach said he is looking for box to box midfielders. That he is also carrying the search overseas.

That is all. Nothing like demoralizing.

you are not even ashamed that a country of 300 million people cannot beat a country of just 30 million people in football? grin

I am sending an emergency petition to FIFA that countries should play with number of players based on national population. grin how can a country of 300 million people play a country with 30 million, with the same number of players. Nigeria's team should be reduced to only 5 players, to face Ghana's 11 players grin
You cap too much for somebody from a country that hasn't won a major tournament in 3 decades

NFF should barr Eguavoen from granting press interviews.

His utterances leave much to be desired.
I have not heard him say anything out of order. He is 10 times better than Rohr when it comes to speaking to the media. He doesn't hide anything and that is what you need to do as a Nigerian coach coaching Nigeria because there are many who will use ur silence against you

“If you want to be a striker for Liverpool, you have to work your f***ing socks off in each game.

“You have to defend the width, you have to defend whatever. That is important.

“That’s why we change. Not because they didn’t score, because they scored and we still change.

“But it’s about how much can they help us in all the situations, and for that you need fresh legs.”
- Klopp

CC: Thegoodjoe .. Klopp is clearly hinting here that he has specific preference for the number nine role.. Not much different from what Eguavon is saying.. Expect that I don't think that kind of preference can work in a national team setting due to limited time to try out new things..

Comrade, there was a time/window for that. We/Rohr blowed the opportunity for players from low rated Portugal and beyond. We could have had him and Eze. Na Rohr make the matter hard.

Right now it's late. We missed the opportunity to convince him when he was relatively in his shadows—slightly unknown, and far from the attention of the bigger guys he wanted. Now the whole world has seen his glory. We cannot win him except he decides from his own heart. And he won't. I believe, though I pray he does.

Everybody can be bought with the right price. Any woman can he swept off her feet— with the right broom, at the right time, and in the right place.

We screwed up!
